About a year ago I did a reading for an auntie. She is in her late 50's, and the boy who took her to high school prom contacted her out of the blue, after forty years.

She wanted to know if it would be good to date him. Her reading was hexagram 3.6 .

Bradford: A team of four horses arrayed alike
Tears of blood, flowing like water

I told her it didn't look so good.
She chose to go ahead and see him.
He sent a giant teddy bear and flowers before he arrived. He pulled up in front of her house in a shiny White and Chrome 18 wheel truck (the team of horses.) , dressed in his finest white shirt, blue jeans, and shiney belt buckle. He took her out to eat several times to expensive restaurants. Then his wooing show subsided back into reality.

He stayed with her for two weeks and she complained to me, "ug! this guy is BORING, he doesn't like to talk and all he wants to do is watch football. Yuck!"

When it was time for him to get back to work she told him that things wouldn't work between them. and not to come back.
The suitors quest failed. (his bloody tears.)

(p.s. Auntie introduced the suitor to her boring friend, and they have been together happily for over a year now.)

But that means that the oracle is not always speaking about you! Tears can be someone else s tears
I would not have gone ahead thinking that blood tears were mine.
That is giving me uncertainty.:(

Well, we have to consider that I was a third party asking, and so got an overview image of the situation. If Auntie had asked herself, she probably would have got a very different answer. (maybe Retreat or something.)

It is good to be very clear with our questions, and if I am uncertain about an answer, I often fall back to what is best for me to do?

My experience with line 3.6 is similar to yours Moss Elk.
I have received the line before breakup and always the blood of tears was my tears.
The line also means despair.

I received the line often in a context of university matters. When I had to deliver a paper or to learn for an examin and was exhausted and the fear that I could fail was influencing my willpower and I was indeed giving in then (temporarily).
3.6 certainly is one of the lines I dislike most, though it has an empowering potential as well.

What is there to be uncertain about. Moss Elk did a reading for her. He said

His auntie wanted him to consult the I Ching for her so why would the answer be about him ?

If I consult for people it's not always that clear cut which is why I don't do it much, but it works differently for different people.

Great story

I once saw a documentary on a girl in the UK that was talking about ex's and she was obsessed particularly by one guy . She never could understand why this guy left her. Anyway they tracked the guy down and he remembered her as he said as controlling and a pain thats why he dumped her. She then realised that what on earth she ever found in him and thought how insensitive he was.

I think South Park have an episode about memberberries its about this sort of thing.
They talk about the original star wars movie that blew everyone away in 1975 or whatever then in 2000 they try to recreate that energy, its not the same

OR like two people share an experience and they both have completley different recollections of what actually happened.

hexagram 3 line 6 to me is not seeing the reality of a situation and then when you do may weep or feel like it anyway. It seems its strong advice that is rarely taken.

Interesting that its the last line in hexagram 3, maybe its the end of what began.
Someone maybe able to help me out there.

Well remember you can cast it about anything. It doesn't have to be a full scale tragedy though it can be very sad. For example in wiki there is a case where a woman here cast 3.6 for keeping her unborn child and also cast 3.6 for aborting it. What happened was she miscarried anyway so 3.6 there seemed to be saying this was going to come to nothing/come to an end whatever she did. The choice was out of her hands there.

On the other end of the spectrum I've had it about a night out, something one has a lot of expectations of but turns out to be a bit of a let down.

It cannot be sustained or perhaps at times it very nearly cannot be sustained. In my own experience it is generally something that cannot find a foothold so falls away as in Moss Elk's example. It announces itself in full pomp and ceremony though in the end you might wonder what you got all dressed up for.

You just reminded me Trojina of my dear old mum who was a Beatles nut ,
I mean she had her whole bedroom covered in Beatles posters (mainly George)
Anyway in the 80's I was watching MTV and she was reading a book, she looked up and there was a clip of the Beatles and these women or girls screaming, then she said "oh no" that could have been me.
Put her head in her hands
We all laughed

Sorry I just meant that as you said that the reading does not have to be a tragedy,
I think like all readings it really depends on the context and where you are at the time.
Again as you mentioned and I have as well there is strong advice in the line.
To be honest I was just trying to put a lighter aspect on how the line could be seen or interpreted.
