Show me a picture of if I stay with my cousin for the winter.

Hexagram 26.1.6 > 46.

26: The Taming Power of the Great. Perseverance furthers. Not eating at home brings good fortune. It furthers one to cross the great water.

line 1: do not take action
line 6. OK to take action

(In what time frame??)

46. The Judgement - Pushing upward has supreme success. One must see the great man. Fear not. Departure toward the south Brings good fortune.
The Image - Within the earth, wood grows: The image of Pushing Upward. Thus the superior man of devoted character Heaps up small things In order to achieve something high and great.

The south seems positive. Where, exactly, is "south"?

Hex 26 says that travelling is good and "not dining at home". Well my cousin is family, in theory at least. Does that mean this is a bad idea, or is "home" where my parents are? The context here seems like a double mirror to me.

26. 1 Perhaps you should not make the commitment just yet?
26. 6 After you study your options you will come up with a good plan.
46. Pushing Upward - heaping up small things.

46. Emphasizes doing things on one's own.
Several possibilities come to mind. Perhaps you will decide you do not want to spend the entire winter with your cousin but it is a good starting place. Or perhaps staying with your cousin will give you a base but you do not want to be answering to them? The thought that comes to my mind is that your cousin might be relying on you for rent or somehow expecting you to be more committed than you would like to be and it's important to find out just what they think this is all about before you sign on the dotted line.

Thanks Rosada. I would of course discuss rent and utilities and what kind of agreement it would be ahead of time. I guess the Yi is saying this could be a good temporary arrangement but not for the whole winter, which is a good warning to have -- as it means I Need another option as backup. I'm not planning on committing for several more months, but I have to seek out the options before I do the big move.

Thanks again for your input.
