Hi! I recently asked what to do and got this combination.
The question refers to how to get on my life in every single aspect of it,
as I feel quite hopeless, defeated...

It seems to teel me that I need to look for people whi can help me?

But where, what kind of people, I'm house bound for the past year,
and i have no strength to look.

Any suggestions are appreciated...

27.4 - 21

Hello Tali,

Hex 27 - Corners of the Mouth is concerned with how we nourish ourselves through our thoughts, self-belief etc. The bottom line, where 'You let your magic tortoise go' indicates a loss of belief in your path and destiny. The top line 'The Source of Nourishment' represents having trust in your path and destiny, trust in the universal process or Tao, this is 'True Nourishment'.
The middle lines reflect whether we are looking at or away away from true nourishment.
Your reading with 4th yin is urging you to 'turn to the summit' - look to the power of faith and self-belief in your future, this is 'true' nourishment. 'Spying about with sharp eyes like a tiger' indicates that, not surprisingly given your circumstances, you are eagerly searching for a way forward - it doesn't necessarily mean finding help from others, although there's nothing wrong with that, it more likely reflects your eagerness or 'hunger' to find a solution.
The resultant hexagram - 21 Shih Ho is about penetrating and investigating principle in order to reach a true understanding. Your line resultant (4th yang in Hex 21) is urging you to persevere, bite through, your difficulties.
Being house-bound cannot be easy, but it's possibly a good opportunity to get to know the I Ching - that way your growth and development will continue despite your difficult circumstances. God bless you and good luck. Peter

Peter,
thank you for your explanation!

So it basically reflects my current state and does not really predict anything
or gives advice.

thats been my experience so far with I ching, it just shows my current emotional
state back to me.

Thank you Peter for your kind words!

Hi Tali,

Yes, it's reflecting back your state of mind but it's also giving you some pretty clear advice in that it's suggesting that you should keep faith with your path and the universal process. As so often with the I Ching it's not predicting any specific event (fortune-cookie style) it's just encouraging you to keep faith and carry on - it sounds prosaic but it's sound advice nonetheless. It's more about the path rather than whether you're going to win the lottery or not. Predictions do come along, sometimes directly more often implicitly, but it's often your path and inner growth as a person that the I Ching is more concerned with. Peter

Hello all

Peter's explanation of hexagram 27 is a very good one. It is a hexagram I almost never receive in personal readings and therefore have had some difficulties with. Good job, Peter.

Tali,

I don't know your full circumstances, but they do sound difficult. All I can say is that whatever you're facing, it will be for a purpose as part of your inner growth. This level of existence is not meant to be a holiday - without difficulty we cannot grow or develop, we have to integrate our fears and hardships just as we have to integrate our unconscious opposite (anima/animus) in order to become whole. Fate can often seem cruel but try to accept it with humility - don't let it erode your faith or self-belief. Seek the truth inwardly, not outwardly - all externals are relative. If you can master the I Ching you will have arguably the finest teacher ever devised by man to guide you. Peter

I have to say Peter I do not give a **** about my inner growth.
i want the externals to be up to my standards and that would be good enough for me.

Yes, fate is cruel and I didn't deseve it, so I'm not gonna accept it.

But thanks a lot for your translation, as I find ot hard to undertsand i ching language.

Gene,

Many thanks for your comments. Not wishing to digress from this thread but if I can quote a sentence you wrote elsewhere:

This is the deeper, more esoteric meaning of the story in the gospel of John of the marriage at Cana.

Was this the marriage where Jesus asked something like - 'would that the groom could enter the bridal chamber alone' - indicating the self-integration of opposites, or have I picked this up somewhere in the Apocrypha? Peter.

what surprises me is that people on this forum draw many parallels between Chrisitianity and i ching. IMHO it's a weird thing to do, as I always thought that classical Christianity or Judaism for this matter both strongly oppose any kind of sorcery/divination. Isn't it so?

That's OK Tali, sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Hope things work out for you. Peter

Oh, but you were very helpful, I would've never thought that i ching is talking about believing in myself. Thanks a lot! I guess I'm trying to use i ching as a decision-making tool out of the dire straits as opposed to a path of inner growth. It's hard to think about inner growth when you are on your way to bankruptcy :)

What parallels I draw have nothing to do with mainline Christianity, but esoteric Christianity is about as Buddhist and Taoist as you can get. Tali, I also have to say something here that I hope you will understand is coming from years of experience and love. If you don't give a **** about your inner growth, the I Ching will not serve you in any way. It is not an auto response system. It comes from universal intelligence of a much higher order than anything we can understand with our conscious minds. it cannot be used as a tool. It can only be used for personal growth and then only if we have the right attitude toward it. I hope you will give up your anger, because anger causes disease in the body. It is of absolutely no use, and doesn't help you or anyone else. It is only when you give thanks for the things that you DO have that you will ever come to have more. This is universal principle. The universe is alive. That is not religious belief, the latest scientific physics discoveries are confirming it. It is for all practical purposes useless to use the I Ching unless you understand this and are reconciled to this truth. I wish you all the best.

Probably you are right Gene...I'm angry and probably I'm using a wrong tool/solution to solve my problems.
i can't use i ching or go to psychics, it's very negative for me...Thanks for your good wishes!

The marriage story I am talking about is in the 2nd chapter of John, and it is where Jesus turns the water into wine. The story has significance on many levels. One level is the allegory of the change of ages. In Jesus time it was the change from the Age of Aries to the age of Pisces. The new wine, of the new age was better than the old wine of the old age. The same is true now as we move into Aquarius, the new wine of the new age is better than the old wine of the old age.
