31. 2,5 ->32 ...negative or not?

I've read through all the threads dealing with this line...and I'm still wondering...

31 means mutual attraction between the sexes. If this is the case, how can this be an answer to a simple yes or no question. Does the reading gives evaluation of situation? Because that is what it seems like to me.

And the relating hexagram 32 is the out come of my move? If so is it positive.
I cast the reading today at 10.00 pm.
Any thoughts?

Umm but what was the question? That would help. Meanwhile yes/no's are a bit iffy (look at Hilary's section on questions for help on this stuff) and negative/positive is incredibly relative to context so could you post the q pls?

The question was if I did well and send a message to a guy that I am interested in but he keep me hanging on. I wrote to him not to contact me again cause it is torture and the result is that I miss him.
This is because I told him before not to call me again and he kept calling me and playing with me once being friendly and the other time flirted me without asking to see me for example or anything that would indicate his intentions(good or bad).

OK, like I said questions that ask for a yes or no answer are a problem because you don't know who it is talking about but here goes....

31 obviously describes the context of attraction

31.2 talks about timing and not being impulsive What is required is composure in order to know what one is dealing with - is it sincere or not?

31.5 suggests that by being too defensive one closes off any possibility that the influence is sincere and then one risks being unreceptive to potential.

32 implies steadiness - maybe this is a bit of a repeating pattern in your life or maybe that's what was on offer - eventually?

So, who is it talking about? You or him? Negative or positive? Only you can answer that. But my personal view is maybe you shot youself in the foot by telling him to stop contacting you. Seems a funny thing to do to someone you fancy.

Vivian, maybe it would be a good thing for you to write back to him and flirt, too. a litle 31 never hurt anyone......and if you want the 32, you might need to endure a little 31-ing. there are worse ways to be tortured

Vivian, according to Wilhelm, hexagrams 31 and 32, among with 53 and 54, are the only ones that clearly refer to relationships.

Lines 2 and 5 are the strongest ones in a hexagram.

I mostly agree with Lucia and add that 31.5 to me talks about the need of a more honest and altruistic attitude to make the thing run.

Regarding 32, I see it as positive permanently repeating cycles, not necessarily a negative pattern, (but this should not be discarded).

We have to consider that 32 follows 31 and refers to the relation between husband and wife, so it is related to the continuous observance of their respective duties.

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to give your insight. It is exactly the opposite of what I had concluded, so perhaps taking a measured approach and calming my raging desire to give her an ultimatum would indeed be a better route to take. Still feel like I'm compromising my own needs here, though.
