Hello,This is my first time posting here but I have been interested in the I Ching for a long time and found my lovely old copy of the book very rewarding over the years. The fact that I am presently seeking thoughts externally, on the internet, is probably a good indication of my current inner ambivalence and uncertainty. But I have enjoyed reading many menbers’ interpretations on this site and know there are lots of you who have made a real study of the book, its thoughts and wisdoms. So if anyone has time, I would be grateful for your impressions. I received 32.3.4 changing to 7 when I asked if I should go on the holiday my boyfriend and I have booked. It seems a small, trivial matter, but briefly the background is that our relationship of 15 months has been beset by conflict and frustrations and neither of us wish to continue in this way, so each decision we make seems laden with ramifications and I feel overwhelmed by my feelings of uncertainty, almost paralysed by them. We are both of an age, in our 40s, when neither necessarily expected to fall in love again and it had a glistening and happy start. It quickly began to feel troubled, initially it was my frustrations in his at times chaotic way of managing daily life. Nonetheless he is a good and decent man, much tragedy in his family history, and many good friends, though at times exhausting and self absorbed. I’m sure I must be too. I know I should sit stilly and peaceably myself to intuit and interpret this reading, but I feel I could benefit from some input from experienced readers.With thanks and good wishes.

Can you give us some idea of what your interpretation of these lines is?

It looks to me as if the ic is noting that as it stands there doesn’t seem to be any thing to be gained by taking this trip. Perhaps hex 7 is advising you need to be more organized in making the plan. You mention your friend isn’t as organized in his way of doing things as you would prefer so perhaps you should take a more active roll in directing this holiday.

Hi Mandolin, I find it very hard to read the 'yes or nos' I agree with Rosada, and maybe Yi is just describing your own fears and aspirations (maybe the lines of H7 depict them clearly?): 'I feel overwhelmed by my feelings of uncertainty, almost paralysed by them.' Hatcher says that in line 32.3 we try to draw lines of connection between all of our most shining moments... but tend to leave out those actual things which may not shine so brightly (and you fear those darker parts 'may cart corpses'?) And then 32.4 shows that 'to be a seeker of truth isn't enough to hunt wisdom' so maybe 'your army needs relaxation', drop your guns?.It may only be a description of how you feel and what you fear. You could ask for advice, instead.All very best.
