32 to 16..romantic outlook??

After recent events have contributed to further confuse things with a certain 'friend' of mine, I thought of asking the iching what are the chances of this relationship ever developing into something romantic and got 32 changing to 16.

I've had 32 with conflicting lines before, but these two puzzle me. As for hex 16, I'm not really an expert on it so i'd like to ask if anybody could contribute any thoughts!

I must admit I didn't really expect a straightforward reading as I was a bit anxious about that 3rd line..I find these two lines together really contradictory!

I don't really know what the music could refer to, as we are not involved in music in any specific way..Unless it could refer to a social situation in which there is music, such a party or concert, which are both situations in which we'd most likely to meet (and also where we originally met).

Can I also ask in general what is your take on the school of thought that between two changing lines the upper prevails?

I really have valued your insight and input in my previous readings, and your interpretations always resonate with my thoughts.

Such rules don't accord with my style of reading, so I don't uses them, but some readers may be helped by them.

I tend to agree but I find it hard sometimes to interpret multiple lines when they are conflicting (I know it's quite a common dilemma). In this case, i thought perhaps line 3 could refer to the possible inconsistency of the other party as well? Also 16 as the relating hexagram, do you see that as where the situation could tend towards? Or could that refer to my personal situation at present?

Line 3 is conditional.

So it doesn't really conflict with line 2 -- as I read it.

For me, the main problem in reading is to find the querent in the casting. I focused on the querent -- yourself in this case. So although the question is about the relationship, I read the casting as if you were in the center of the picture.

Yes, I took 16 as suggesting a future possibility.
