Can anyone throw a little more light on this please? I am looking for a job and asked 'What do I need to do to get back to work?'

I got 40.4 > 7

40 seems to be 'release' so I'm wondering am I the one to do the releasing or am I being released? Line four seems to be about releasing people, but that confuses me because I have been doing just that (distancing myself from people who were dragging me down). Hex 7 is about putting in a huge effort, which is what I am doing, and finding it hard going.

I'd be so grateful for any ideas as I really do want a new job.

Thank you.

Release, Separate and Organize

Release your attachment to (separate yourself from physically and emotionally) inferior people who were bringing you down. Then someone better will arrive who will help. In the meantime, organize yourself so that you can work (H7).

An idea :)

40. Release
Line 4:
Releasing also the thumbs.
The companionship attained that way is trustworthy.

Letting go of the last bit of one's initial attitude of mistrust.
(This is about releasing one's thumbs from a bow. One has felt threatened by people and raised bows in defense. When seeing the first signs of the situation not being threatening the bows are lowered. With complete trust one also releases the thumbs from the bow strings.)

Hi Ann, nice to meet you! This is my take on it :D

You asked the question- what do you need to do to get back to work and I think the Yi is giving you a some advice/guidance and a strategy for doing this!

I used the above translation. I'm thinking that this line is addressing any fears or worries you have about searching for a job! & getting back to work! Facing something new even though you are returning can be nerve wracking/scary! Am I good enough? Will I cope etc etc. I'm sure you get the picure I'm painting. I believe this line is telling you to pull out all the stops in relation to your attitudes about getting a new job! I think its saying Relax! Release your tension, not to be afraid and approach it in a systematic or organised way- put confidence into it along with your effort, as if you are a general organising a life saving campaign or marching into battle! (The army- 7) let any feelings of defensiveness go! I.e. Procastinating or feeling that you might get turned down Or even believe that you won't get the job before you even go for an interview, that someone "better" might get it. Or worry that you will be judged etc. Having to explain why you are returning, for example by future employers or your friends/family around you!

So If you relax, and approach this with lots of confidence and self belief you will attain your goal easily! Let go of any worries about it- I believe this line is saying they are unfounded fears/worries and GO ANN GO!!!!! :D

(Does a little cheer leader dance for you!) Hope this is of some benefit! Very similar to what Tiger said I think

trying too hard

Just a Suggestion, if your trying too hard and not relaxing that can have a more negative effect on yourself and employers, You could try putting an element of fun into this! if its fun It won't be stressful & you will breeze along into what suits you best!

I can sympathise, even though I don't know your reason for leaving or having to return to work! I had a back injury (& lots of surgery on my spine!) which left me disabled, I thought I'd never be ready to return, I've gone from being wheel chair bound to walking/being fully mobile, its taken me 5 years!! i'm 28 now! ugh! But you really can do it! I use to worry about confidence etc. but since this happened I worked on my confidence, and I returned to work after a long absence and started a new career with children and I'm VERY happy!

I use to worry all the time before my accident! Jobs where a chore, but only from my own attitudes towards it! Once I Lightened up everything fell into place!

I approach the whole idea with fun, laughter and a light hearted approach I'm now in a very happy job! So self belief really is everything! & also not taking life too seriously! As that inhibits rather than helps!

Also employers respond to a relaxed happy but also confident/dedicated personality than they do a stressed out one! just desperately trying to get a job! In this way you give off the wrong "vibes" to employers! SO this would increase your chances!

Tiger and Pink Mandolin, thanks so much. I am in the middle of applying for a job right now and it feels SO daunting. It's a long time (a VERY long time) since I had a full time job and a lot has happened, including health issues along the way.

Pink Mandolin, your posts rang really true. Although I come across as a very confident person, I've had to do a lot of work on my 'inner' being if you know what I mean. Your note about releasing thumbs from the bow really resonated - I have been very tense and depressed about all of this. And I've been doing a lot of self work using EFT and Carol Look's wonderful CDs (they are great by the way). So maybe that's exactly what the Yi meant - releasing myself from my own negative thinking.

And what a come back you have made Pink Mandolin! Congratulations - what a journey!

Thank you so much both of you.

Your Welcome!

I'm glad your confident Ann!! Yes let go of that depression and tension, there is no need! Trust and believe in yourself as you have done so this far! keep on Keeping on :D

When I saw that hex I got an image in my mind of you as a pink rose!! (very strange, it made me giggle, pink is my fave colour) anyway I kept seeing this hex as you holding a huge bow just like the image shows, trying to hit that target and your arm was wavering because the tension on the bow was too tight. When you relax let your armys (hex 7- that was a joke! :D arm/armies! tehee) be free you will naturally hit your target/aim!

The hex to me says that the negative thinking is your only down fall, it clearly says its unneeded!
