40: moving house?

hello.
i am pondering this one - my question was whether i will be moving house in a year or so (i wanted to know because i would like to decide on some home upgrades, and also because a relationship). i am quite confused as whether the hexagam tends to say yes or no - although i am glad the atmospgere sweems positive. can anoyne help me a bit? please

I don't usually use the Yijing as a predictive tool, to know if I (or someone else) will be doing something or not in the future. But since you asked ....

The hexagram statement twice says 'Having somewhere to go, (is / will be) auspicious'. That certainly sounds like a move is in store OR perhaps, if you decide to make a move, that it will go well and be auspicious (good, worthwhile) for you.

Looking at the trigrams of Hexagram 40, you have Water below: the river is moving, but staying within it's course and always going in the same direction. But then with the upper trigram - all of a sudden the river jumps its channel - it's boundaries - and becomes Thunder, (possibly) going in new, different, or even shock directions!

But again, is this predictive - as in, you will (or won't) be doing something; or is it prescriptive - that if you do decide to make a move, it will go well? I think you always have to consider your own free will and decision-making abilities.
