43.3.5 to 54

Afternoon guys!

If anyone has read any of my previous threads, i had a falling out with a friend. I decided to reach out to them to resolve issues. We met and had a very pleasant exchange that seem to sort out our issues. But at the end of the evening another conflict arose and we are kinda at square 1 again .

So my qu once again is. will my friend contact me? hex 43.3.5-54. I’m getting a bit tired of being the one to instigate contact and wondering if i should just let this go. Any suggestions would be so greatly appreciated!!

i really have no idea how to interpret this one. i know 43 is about decisions / breakthroughs but 54 isn’t so positive. Could it mean not having any power in the situation?
43.3 could mean an authentic chat is needed!
43.5 to confront and remove the problems we are having
but 54??? not sure, really lost

If I mentally rephrase your question to, "How does X feel about calling me?," is that pretty close to your intent, or is there a better way to put it?

It might mean your friend thinks the same thing might happen again. Line 3 - "If I get in touch with Lettuce, I'll get rained on."

Line 3's omen is "not a mistake," which is interesting in this case. If it describes what X is thinking, maybe she'll call you. But she'd have to get that far, to realize it's not a mistake.

Hilary often makes the point that Yi says "not a mistake" because whatever-it-is probably feels like a mistake. When a reading is meant to be advice for yourself, you can see "not a mistake" and take that in as Yi's message. But your friend has to get to that point on her own - she doesn't know about the reading.

Line 5 is about deciding whether something is worth going after. Amaranth is said to be a nutritious or medicinal herb, but in 43.5 it's growing up on the "high ground" where it's hard to get to. Is it worth all the effort, or not?

Maybe X is thinking things like that: "Lettuce is a friend, we enjoy each other's company, but we also always end up fighting. Is the good worth the bad?"

What to make of the 54...I'm not completely sure. But in general, 54's marrying maiden has to try to settle in and make a home for herself in a place where she has no power or importance.

Normally 54 wouldn't, or couldn't, assert herself like this in the first place. She wouldn't do this, stand up in front of the king and demand to be heard. So if the reading means your friend feels like hexagram 54 in a 43 type of situation ("Should I call Lettuce or not?"), she's probably nervous about a 43.3 sort of outcome, and has to think hard about whether it's worth it.
