44.2.4.5>52 - a stalker? No! A deer

Hello, just wanted to share this with you all. I was going for an evening stroll by myself and was mildly worried that I might be in danger if the path was lonely, so checked in with yi to see if I’d be safe on my walk. I got 44.2.4.5>52. Um - hmm. Wasn’t sure what this meant - was someone hiding in the bushes? Well, it still didn’t seem like a warning as such. I went anyway.

After a little while I crossed over a bridge and on the other side cane suddenly face to face with - a deer! It was such a surprise, and i breathed in sharply. I stood there looking right at it for several minutes, and it looked at me, no doubt wondering what I was about. In the end it wandered off, but the encounter for me was really magical. I realised then that this was what yi was describing ... which also made me realise that, to the deer, I was probably the woman who is to be avoided!

I’m typing this on my phone which doesn’t work very well (the screen doesn’t fit) so think I’d better stop there :)

I just thought it was a nice 44 example, since 44 is often seen as a difficult hexagram...

Thanks Rosada, that sounds about right! I’ve had no further encounters since. But you’re right, there was utter stillness and silence in that extended moment. When I look back over the lines and how to interpret them, I see too that both the deer and me were like mirror images of each other - both of us were attuned to potential danger in the form of potential predators - to the deer, of course, I could have been a predator - but it stayed so long staring at me that I guess it knew I wasn’t. Even so it wasn’t happy for me to get too close. I feel like there’s a bigger lesson for me in all this but I’m not quite getting it...
