I asked a question about how to invest my energy in a project to make it successful. From what i read about this hex this project doesn't sound like its going to last long term? which is a pity cos i was enjoying it even if it was a slow burner. Any thoughts?

46.2 suggests you invest small amounts of energy.
46.3 cautions against trying to go too far too fast.
2. describes a field of possibilities which so far have not been activated.
I think you are being advised with 46.2 to only invest as much as is possible for you to do without strain. You say you heave been enjoying the project even though it's been a slow burner. Maybe this line is encouraging you to keep up what your doing as long as you stay in enjoyment mode.
46.3 warns you may be going into "an empty city." This could mean that there is nothing there for you with this project but in WikiWing there is an example of a person concerned about driving in heavy traffic but when she got to her destination the traffic was light and so she was successful. Perhaps you too are being told there isn't a lot of competition for what you are trying to do.
I see hexagram 2 as being like a google connection - all the answers are there but first you have to ask a question. So perhaps there is a possibility of success with this project if you can create a need for it's service.
All in all I think the important message here is in line 46.2.
