hello everyone!

I'm a young actress, and just about to start my first job in the movies- I got a part in a very small and very independent Sicilian film.

So today I just asked the oracle to talk to me about the director.

The answer has been 49>44

I can't understand very much.
Hexagram 49 seems to be very good: abolishing the old, start something new.. but the single lines don't look so fine in my book - I have "The complete I ching by Alfred Huang"

Can anybody help?
:bows:

40>19

I've now asked "what should I expect from this small film we're going to make" and the answer has been 40.1.4>19

the lines look good but.. what does it mean? any suggestion?
Will it be a liberation ?!
thanks again!

does anybody think that this man I met (44) will have a sort of revolutionary effect (49) on me?

49.1 says no to go ahead
49.2 says to go ahead
49.6 sounds like this director is someone that looks a way but is actually something else

though it's so strange to me, I really like him!

a friend told me that when there are more than 2 lines one should read also the same lines in the second hexagram

so looking at the same line in 44
44.1 says to keep an eye open
44.2 is total mist to me: there are fishes..?! no good for the guests..
44.6 I shall have regrets

doens't look so nice does it?

Talk to me about the director.
49.1.2.6 > 44

49 is a good hexagram for acting because it is about appearances.

Nine at the beginning means:
Wrapped in the hide of a yellow cow.

Costumed. The director dresses for the part.

Six in the second place means:
When one's own day comes, one may create revolution.
Starting brings good fortune. No blame.

In terms of acting, this implies taking a lead.

Bradford 49.6
A noble young one's leopard transformation
Ordinary people merely change masks
To expedite has pitfalls
To abide in persistence is promising

The director is an actor at heart. Hexagram 44 suggests he will be demanding. Probably you will do best by becoming part of the acting team.

Pocossin thanks so much!!

but you seem to see all of this quite positively

I was worried because a friend of mine said that I Ching is telling me not to work with this director, to be really careful and that I can't expect too much (49.6)

She warned me that I might lose other chances and that the end of this project will be a liberation 40>19.

DO you also see that somewhere?
Do you think I shoud go ahead or leave it now?

Can I please ask you from which line did you come to think that I should do better by joining the acting company?
The director is eager in that sense, he would like me to work only for him. But since he doesn't pay a single penny I 'm of another opinion :)

thanks again!

Olga, there should be compensation for you somewhere. Will you gain needed work experience and publicity? Will you make new contacts? Does this director have a creative aura that could raise your acting to a higher level of performance? Actors often start their careers by acting in non-paying amateur productions, I think, but if you are being asked to work without pay then the director has an obligation to advance your career in some manner. If he doesn't pay, he should help you find work that does.

Joining seems favorable because of the association of 49 with acting and because the fortunes attached to the lines are not clearly negative.

Line 2.
Starting brings good fortune. No blame.

Line 6.
To expedite has pitfalls
To abide in persistence is promising

"To expedite has pitfalls" I think means 'don't rush into this', but if it accords with the course you have set for yourself (to abide in persistence is promising), then it is favorable. Your commitment should depend on the quality of the direction you expect to receive, on the quality of the other actors you will be working with, and on the quality of the script. (I understand 44 as inscription.) You and the director should have a meeting of minds about compensation before you commit.

thank you so much!

Now if I think I've based some important choices out of I Ching response.. I have the shivers! considering how different interpretations can be - opposite almost!

So one can never be 100%sure I guess

thanks again though! your positive vision has been of great comfort to me :)

I never updated this!

It all went really bad: we all spent so much money on flights going to Sicily for rehearsals and meetings, then while we were waiting for the film to start the director made us sign a paper where we committed ourselves for two months. In the meantime he started to work with other actors, without even telling us we were free and could accept other jobs.

A complete disaster!
