hi. i would appreciate if you maybe have some additional experience or advice to this - the basis is clear.
i asked about how to proceed in a love situation (met someone who is very kind, clever and makes me feel good. it is important for me to attend to the situation as best as possible as i value this person a lot) - 5.5 to 11 seems to say to want, not to initiate things - which is fine with me (they write often enough that i am actually not tempted to send them 100 messages which is great and new to me).

is there anything else that you wpuld consider a good love advice of this, what i may have overlooked?

I don't think 5.5 insists on not taking any action; it rather invites you to do you own thing, be happy and let the things take their natural course.

When i received 5.5 it was telling me to do nothing just wait until the event you are expecting occurs maybe you should ask another question to truly know what you should be waiting for perhaps?

5.5 to 11 love

Hex5 talks about waiting because there is a latent danger ...the possibility of danger is present. Line 5 is the representative of the hexagram and shows very well how to behave in this situation of waiting - it is the pragmatic behavior that is most helpful in "preparing" the small details of a common vision that is beneficial to both parties involved and that will help in the best way to deal with the possibility of this latent danger.

what danger(s) is(are) this?

the danger of misunderstanding
the danger of expectations taking time to come true.
the danger of frustration and lack of confidence that comes from waiting.
the danger of unclear behavior and the reflection and multiplication of that behavior, which puts in question the sincerity and the good flow of the situation, affecting the people involved.

and that is also why line 5 recommends waiting with a correct behavior, structured, with rules but fluid as when sharing a meal, eating and drinking together sitting at the same table.-have perceverance with that.

The Judgment

WAITING. If you are sincere,
You have light and success.
Perseverance brings good fortune.
It furthers one to cross the great water.

The Image

Clouds rise up to heaven:
The image of WAITING.
Thus the superior man eats and drinks,
Is joyous and of good cheer.

line5:
Waiting at meat and drink.
Perseverance brings good fortune.

ok the question was stated exactly as you said, ie "what should i be waiting for?"
i got 51.3.4 to 36.
i dont understand it at first glance but there will be some big changes and strong emotions i guess.

i see how this would work in a 5uc reading with 6 being next in sequence, but i don't see the idea of latent danger in 5.5 > 11, where the line is the direct answer. though i personally don't find 11 that promising for love readings, this cast tells me to wait for now, enjoy yourself while waiting and take care of yourself (waiting at meat and drink) until the opening comes for a period of flow (11). flow can feel great, but somehow in my own experience usually doesn't last (it's not 32 after all).

"what should i be waiting for?"

i see it as you're waiting for the situation to resolve itself (by external force, not by taking action) and you're keeping your light (feelings) hidden. though 51.3 actually advises to take some action when sort of moved by the shock, to remain free of misfortune (Be excited to movement instead of distress - Bradford).
