Over the past few years I've grown dissatisfied with a career I once loved. Certainly I've changed in that time, but so too has the industry and it's values and principles which I no longer agree with. This unease has dragged on now for some years and caused inner conflict. But I'm fearful of making a change in life/ job even though deep down a clean slate is what I crave. But it's hard to walk away from something you've given 20 years to and with no certainty or direction.

Anyway, I asked the I Ching if I would benefit from a career change and received 51 unchanging.

As a novice here I don't consult the I Ching often -- any feedback is most appreciated!

Thank you

Hi

Thats a hard one , I would wonder at first as well if I got this response, maybe the advice is calling for caution, really look into this as you say its a big step. Maybe you can change careers but not the way you want to. I have made some bad decisions when I have been is similar states of mind. Sometimes when we make rash decisions when we are fed up, the end result may be good but it could take years of pain and puss getting there.

Liu: Thunder doubled symbolizes shock. The superior man contemplates himself with fear and caution.

The image is of repeated thunder, to me thats a warning, so to me I would really evaluate, I am not saying don't change careers. If you can take a week or preferably two off if you can, saying that the holidays are approaching fast, so I would reflect over this period if you can get some quiet time.

Put it this way I wouldnt leave my job tomorrow.

Steve
