I cast this reading with the question: what is the outcome of applying for the the next level position?
I received Marrying Maiden changing to Abundance. I got hung up on the Marrying Maiden as "coming in second" interpreting that I would not get the position if I applied for it; or there are possibly 2 positions available and sharing the role with another colleague, I would be in a lesser position. My other thought was I would have abundance in this lesser role if I stuck to the role as offered versus trying to create more of what I see the role becoming. Or not....maybe asking a completely different question! Any thoughts appreciated.

I see 54. as representing the prescribed steps one must take to reach the next level and 55. as representing that next level, so that looks promising. However the lines aren't all that great. I think of the saying, "A person rises to their level of incompetence." Are you sure you want this position? There may be duties or conditions you aren't aware of (54.2) or the new position might not be much of an improvement (54.3). "Trouble with the rat race is that even when you win you're still a rat." (Lily Tomlin.) Or maybe the I Ching is simply limiting its answer to only telling you the results of applying will be that you'll find out more about the offering, but it's not going so far as to say whether you would get the job. Have you been at this company for some time? 54 is good in situations where one is rewarded for waiting their turn. Good luck!

I'm actually not sure I want the job-it's pretty much what I'm doing now with a 10% increase in pay which will bump up my pension, allow me to retire a smidge earlier. I've been with the company for 3 1/2 years to answer your question. We shall see...thank you so much for your thoughtful input Rosada!
