I asked the Yi for the best advice it could provide in regard to an investment I have. It's a relatively small financial investment and of course I'm undecided if I want to leave it or reallocate it.

Anyway the Yi replied with 55.1.3.6>35. And I'm not sure how to apply this to the situation.

Well, I know zilch about investment, but I think if you can reallocate this, you should. Take charge and take action (55), make the best possible use of opportunities and multiply your gifts (35). (Maybe you 'inherited' this investment somehow, or were guided to it, but now you're on your own with the decision?) 55.1 speaks of a connection that's no mistake for a defined period of time, after which you should move on. 55.6 says it's disastrous to hide away - it has a hint of someone who just doesn't want to know and doesn't want to have to deal with stuff. So those two lines together give me the idea it would be good to move the funds.

55.3 doesn't jump out at me in the same way. Perhaps it's talking about difficulties in reallocating the funds - not seeing what to do among all the possibilities, or being temporarily unable to make the move for some reason. In which case, that's fair enough, you can wait - just don't do the line 6 thing.

Probably the most important thing to take from the reading is not so much whether or not to move the money as 'the king assumes it, do not mourn, a fitting sacrifice at noon': taking responsibility and - from 55's trigrams - finding the information you need, then acting decisively on the basis of that information.

Hi BonBon,

"Best advice on deciding between leaving my investment as it is, or reallocating it?"
55.1.3.6 to 35 ~ Skate to where the puck is going to be.

Of course, I am not a financial adviser, so please take this read as just my opinion...

An opportunity window is open (55) ~ Take action (line 1) ~ Review your portfolio, Change may be on the horizon (line 3) ~ Short paper in favor of hard assets, such as land and gold (line 6) ~ this Change will favor the landed gentry (35).

Decide wisely and the market will work for you.

Good luck!

"Best advice Yi can provide with regard to an investment?" 55.1.3.6 to 35
I'll also start with the disclaimer that I have no experience in investment markets.

Hex 55 - Gives a story of going out to meet the challenge through movement and change however this is best achieved through understanding how to act responsibly.

Line 1 - Wait until the full period of the investment has run its cycle.
Line 3 - You may have mixed emotions and wayward thoughts and be tempted to act early.
Line 6 - You will know how best to act when the time comes. Then engage fully with your actions.

Hex 35 - Your new position will be enhanced by a flexible approach and perhaps even doing something that is not in your normal thinking.

Good Luck

Thank you so much hilary, radiofreewill and my_key!
There are elements of each of your interpretations that I want to comment on. Have to do a few things first and will get back to this after work.

Update.

Here’s where I’m at so far.

1). I decided not to reallocate the funds (at the moment, this would have put me in a much stronger position if I had.) You are correct, Hillary, that I was guided to this investment in two ways by two different people at two different times. It is not difficult to reallocate in terms of the physical process of executing a transfer. But it can be difficult to do emotionally at a loss.

2) mr-key’s Line 1 - I’m not sure that a full cycle has occurred yet. I think it’s about half done.

Line 3 - at this point I am now having wayward thoughts and mixed emotions with a temptation to act (though I do also believe acting now would not be the best course.).

Line 6 - I am hopeful (but also important to recognize that the shadow of hope is worry) :)

This was indeed a profitable investment. It took a few years though. I still hold part of it. Leaving it alone was a good course of action (though a different person could have traded around and done better im sure). I could have sold it at various times, however, for the way I tend to operate it was best to leave it be.
