If you asked "What does John want to do about his marriage?" and the answer was this, what would you think? Does John want to leave? That seems to be the obvious message since the hexagram is about wandering and the moving lines sound like the picture of someone dissatisfied and ready to burn the nest, but I would like some input.

Wanting to do and actually doing something is quite different. Here's how I read this: 56: yes, John probably feels burdened and ready for a change, he might need time on his own to figure out what he wants. But 15 (humbling) seems like he might not take action, but instead stay low ride it out. Either way, it looks like he has some reasons to be unfulfilled/unhappy stayin in his marriage.

=) my two cents. Hope it helps

Possibly, but it's just crazy offering interpretations when I know so little about the situation. Here are some possibilities:

* John wants out of the marriage.

* John wants to explore new ground within the marriage.

* John wants to travel with his wife.

Alternately, 56.4.6 might be a snapshot of the marriage right now: John feels unsure about his role in the marriage, like a stranger in a strange land, and finds it humbling.

Or: John's experience of marriage is completely new to him; he's exploring territory that's completely new to him and which is levelling out inequities in his personal terrain, helping him to develop what needs developing and rounding off the sharp edges in his personality.

Tell me more about John's marriage, and I might be able to feel that one of the above interpretations was more cogent than the others. Or maybe not lol.
