57.1.2.6 > 63 - how does he feel about me?

I am new to IChing and feel that it resonates with me well. I asked "how does "this person" feel about me?" I received 57.1.2.6 changing to 63. we have a very casual relationship that I am thinking about maybe moving to something more. he is much younger than me but is very mature.

I believe that 57 (soft penetration) is saying to be soft and easy - do not force yourself on him or be loud trying to draw his attention. Moving to 63 (after completion) - does that mean our relationship is over? it was good at the start but its over?

I am wondering about line 57.6. He has recently been very hard to get ahold of. He was sick a couple of week ago but I figured he would contact me. He hasn't. I am wondering if this line could mean that he either lost or quit his job and is without work- which is making him retreat (his life is in disorder hence the >63).

Hi Lorna23. Well, it can be a bit tough to find out how someone feels about you in general-- it depends a lot on context and the circumstances you both are going through at a given moment. But yes, maybe the lines are the way he feels about you overall, line .1 and .2 are good. Line .1-- maybe he feels your determination in the relationship, maybe you are testing the waters (advancing/retreating) but you show persistence. Line .2-- I find this one maybe means you resonate with him at a deep level, where one doesn't even need to ask why, it just happens to be and it feels good, which brings auspiciousness. Line .6-- well again, you both could be resonating at a deep level, but in this one he might be a bit weary about it all, maybe a defense mechanism in order not to feel fear/loss. I think if you want to focus on the middle line, .2, you have to develop this gradually (it's relating hex for that line is 53, gradual development).

Hex 63 (already across) does mean something in it's completing state, but it can also mean something working harmoniously, all parts in their place, balanced. So it most likely does not mean it is over, probably it's heading towards this harmony or you are already feeling this with him. The hexagram does warn to have a goal to move to once you are feeling this because disorder does arise usually when things are going well. Anyhow, good luck!
