Hi. I just did reading asking about how to deal with long distance relationship I've been involved in. This person was going to be moving back to where I live but it's been put off for now. Of course this person is important to me so I ask, "what is the nature of the situation between ****** and I right now and how do I best proceed".

I received 61 with lines 1 2 and 4 changing to 12, standstill.

Can anyone help interperate this? I'd be very grateful.

This reading may be muddied a bit because you've asked two separate questions in one casting. You might want to consider asking each separately, then it would be easier to see how the hexagrams received pertain to each question.

Hi Alo33,

I'll give it a go as I'm getting quite a lot of 61 at the moment. I've been studying the I Ching for 12 years or so but I still consider myself definitely a novice. (learned a lot from the clarity so far).

Anyway...It seems to be a rich and vital hexagram, if little ambiguous at times. It can be as deep as we want it to be this one. It's concerned with inner change and truth - our core self and the higher emotional centre or the heart - the signals it gives us to grow confident and follow our highest path. It is about self honesty and dispensing with subjective inner BS that resides within us so much of the time. Trusting your deepest gut feelings on events and situations are important as is the ability to remain objective and true to yourself. This always requires dedication, committment and discipline.

1: seems to be saying don't fret about it and don't force anything. Just let it unfold, don't try and influence the outcome, no activity required here. See what happens and centre yourself.

2: If you are really operating from a source of truth regarding this relationship then it will work out and he/she will respond according to that resonance from the heart. (however, I guess that depends on the other too)

4: Basically I think I'm right in interpreting this as you can't have your cake and eat it!
You going to have to make sacrifices and compromises. Pride can enter in here in some shape or form if you're not careful.

With 12 (stagnation) as the background this means that the fundaments aren't correct at the moment so you may have to be patient and yielding. Keep your inner strength and things should work out as far as I can see, though from a soul perspective this may mean things result in getting what you need rather than what you want if you understand...As has been mentioned you may want to ask another for clarification as this background hex could be referring as much to your state of mind as to the circumstances.

So its all about faith in the higher you and absolute sincerity in you thoughts and feelings before you are more active on this. If you have that then all should go well. If not, then you have to think it through carefully as to what you really want.

Well that's my tuppence worth! No doubt others more expert than I can give you some ideas.

Hex 61.1 being prepared for whatever may happen depends upon being true to yourself, but if you place to much reliance of your friend, then this will cause you to be anxious and uneasy about the situation.

Hex 61.2 you call out to this person, so if there is a true bond between you then they will answer with friendship and sincerity.

Hex 61.4 suggests a single track mind, proceed with what you think is the right thing to do, and then don't deviate from that decision.

Hex 12 the situation between you seems to be at a standstill, I suppose it is up to you to break that stalemate, remove the obstruction which in turn will lead to gradual progress in your relationship.
