62.6 > 56 hiring a publicist

I'm meeting a publicist in a few days - but am wondering whether this is just a waste of my time or a good step.

"Is hiring a publicist the right step to take now? " This is what I asked the I-Ching.

Answer?

62 changing line 6 > 56

I see this to mean that I'll be overwhelmed in some way? And 56 to be about how I feel now; wandering around aimlessly.

Anyone have a take on this?

Hmmm... Well I seen this reading as I missed the point, or I overshoot, and miss the mark. Gives some reference to not being arrogant or overly confident. But seems like in this case it could be referring to paying attention to all the finer details. Yet not going overboard. If that helps...

I think it's telling you that yes, absolutely you should hire a publicist now - otherwise you may miss the whole opportunity - it will may travel on and pass you by.

Of course, since you phrased your question in terms of "yes" or "no" it's possible a case could also be made for interpreting your answer as meaning don't do it, that you yourself should travel on...

No do not hire a publicist. By doing so you are going way past your limits in some way. It's a clear answer IMO.

I suppose I might see it Rosada's way but you did ask a very direct question about hiring one and this is not an auspicious answer which encourages you to go ahead.

How are you going past your limits by entertaining the idea of using a publicist ?

Is it too expensive ?

Unrealistic expectations ?

Can't cope with what the publicity brings ?

I've no idea what a publicist does to be honest apart from publicise someone and why can't you do that yourself

I'm torn, both answers sound good to me. Its the thoughts "is it just a waste of my time" and the fact an appointment is already set, that makes me wonder if the advice is something like "don't get overconfident now, of course you should go to the meeting"...

I guess overall the advice of 62 is to fly low, stay under the radar...do not expose yourself, don't be like the little bird that flies too high. Now to me publicising yourself is the precise opposite of the overall idea in hexagram 62....so I think this is clearly saying that publicity, or what you think you want from it, is not the way to go.

Hmmm, yes I see that, and agree. I was seeing it as pay attention to the fine details. Like not missing anything. I could actually see now how "staying under the radar" could've helped me in one of my own readings.

If both were to apply, and say this is about a book to be published. I wonder if its like, "the book still needs some work. There's minor details that need your attention" and so "stay low" would be "not ready to be published."

But we need watergoddess1 to come back and share their thoughts. :D

Wow - great! Thank you guys.

I think overall you're all right. I feel exactly like that little bird!! What threw me off was "missing the mark".... but Trojina I feel is correct about looking at the hexagram as a whole.

What you said - blue angel made me realise something. Since my question involved the word "step" - maybe I'm making too great a step for the position I'm in which is why I'm missing the mark. Maybe there's one more step that needs to be completed before taking the bigger one.

Anyway, I will keep you updated on how it pans out. Thanks for all your time. :)
