64 UNCHANGING and Time

I have been waiting for something to occur and asked the Yi "How much longer" . I received 64 unchanging which I believe speaks on new starts/beginnings. Is 64 linked with a time/season? I've seen on here in the past where people were able to associate times and dates with specific Hexagrams.

Well as far as I'm concerned 64uc says, in terms of your question, 'not yet'.

I'm also wondering if the situation is terminally unfinished and on going. Nothing is where it belongs in 64. That is conditions are not yet in the state in which things can be completed, obviously. And I don't think there's any promise that it ever actually will be.

So I think 64 uc can be

1. Not yet
or
2. In a perpetual state of 'not yet' which might boil down to 'not ever' or always half way there ?

I think it can refer to things left undone....or half done, like a half knitted scarf you never quite manage to finish.

I don't use timings in terms of months and so on in readings so I can't help with that. The timings that matter have little to do with months and years IMO

In any case I wouldn't expect a definite resolution date or culmination of an event with this. Things may just be left open ended indefinitely.

Hi bellaball - not to contradict what Trojina is saying because I agree but in very recent times something happened for me.
I'd been trying to get over the end of my marriage for years and just couldn't seem to get over that last bit of letting go and I'd asked Yi how much longer too or something similar and I thought well there's obviously nothing I can really do.
Then a small chain of events happened not long after I'd asked the question and within days I felt so much better and had let him go - finally.

No, the one thing this isn't is new beginnings. Why would you think that ? In fact the shadow hexagram, what not to do, here is hexagram 1. This isn't something to start over with, it is already half way through...or rather there is still a river to be crossed.

You haven't said what kind of thing you are asking about. Looks as if Liss thinks it's about when you will get over someone but I have no idea what it is you are waiting to occur as described in your first post.

It's a bit daft for me to try to interpret anyway when there is no information at all..

What I actually was trying to say is that I thought 64 was about things approaching an end, which is a new beginning of sorts approaching... I guess my wording is incorrect. and yes my question was pertaining to getting over someone.

We will always carry something of those we have been close too even if we forget them for long stretches of time they might return in dreams or daydreams. So I think this answer says there is no completion and after all how is 'getting over someone' really defined ? There isn't a set date and time where they will cease to exist in your psyche as if they had never been there. So it's just an on going process, an inner process and there is truth in the saying 'time heals all wounds'. Things do recede whilst other things become more important so I can't see that you are being given a definite time here, it's very open ended as one might expect. Also it can be literally unfinished as in time one may see the relationship differently or even have a different kind of relationship with the person. In a sense even when someone is no longer in our lives we still have our inner relationship with them. That is the quality of thoughts we might have about them or the memories that visit and so on.

Perhaps you need not worry too much. Your feelings have their own wisdom and processes even whilst the brain is wanting settlement or completion. It may not help to know I don't think there is settlement or completion...not yet, it's on going. That's how I see it anyway.

Yes I did I received 64 unchanging and thought Oh for goodness sake still one more step to go - with all the inner work I'd done over 6 years etc. that's just not right!! Well it was right but before that happened it was truly frustrating to think there was still another step to go.
And then out of the blue that step took care of itself and my whole attachment to him, our relationship and all that went with it - energetically it was gooooone!
