Hi all

In 2 months I will be finishing my studies (finally :D). I had outlook on a job, but because of a cut in the budget of the company they had to put me on reserve.

I am on the lookout for a job again. The organisation where I am finishing my internship is looking for someone to replace a pregnancy. I had a very good run as an intern here, but the job I am applying for is only partly in my field of expertise. Still I think I might a make shot at it.

My question: what are my chances for getting the job at X
Hex 7.2.6 to 23

Victory but separation? Hmmm maybe it is saying I might make a good candidate for a later appliance?

Wadda you guys think?

Well maybe 23 is saying the organization needs to get someone quick because the pregnant lady is "splitting apart" (a good description of what giving birth feels like, btw), so I think 7.2 says since you are there right now ready, willing and able that's a big plus.
7.6 might be referring to the fact you may not have as much experience as other candidates which could be a problem but if it is that much of a problem then I think 7.6 is saying don't feel bad, you wouldn't have wanted this job anyway as you'd have been in over your head.

All in all I think you've got as good a chance as the next fellow. I'd make a special point of being on time for any interviews and emphasizing how you are available to start work as soon as they need you.
Perhaps you should also look at your own life and see where there are things you need to complete so you really are ready to start something new.

I have some news. They invited me for another job opening in the same department but it's not quite in line with my studies. I do need a job and I would like to work for this company. But the job description doesn't sit well with me. I didn't go back to school and work so hard to change my career just to start a job I could have gotten without my degree. I decided to accept their invitation, the first round is a written test. If I pass this test an interview will follow. We will see what can be negotiated if I make it for the interview.

Given this new development how would you now interpret your answer?

Good luck on the written test!

Hi Rosada,

Here is my new (more organised :D ) attempt at an interpretation. I posted my thread at work in between breaks, hence the spelling mistakes (English is not my mothers language) and the half arsed first attempt at interpreting Yi myself.

7: the army, getting organised
The company is looking to fill in an important temp position (pregnancy colleague), they are getting organized

7.2: good fortune, no blame. the center of the army
Yes I might be a good candidate

7.6: inferior people should not be employed & legge:
Other ways can be found to reward inferior men. They ought not to be placed in situations where the conditions of others will depend on them.
Seems to refer to my own reservations about the position they are considering me for. Not to sure about this part though. Am I 'the inferior people'?

23: splitting apart, it does not further one to go anywhere
Wait it out, see what will happen. Perhaps not jump on this possible job offer. Maybe another opportunity at this company will reveal itself in time.

Hi Oceangirl,

I got the job as a temp replacement for the pregnant colleague. The job in itself was in fact really interesting and I think I handled it quite well. Also there was some stress due to a growing gap between the team and our managers.

In the mean time I have signed a fixed contract at another company. It is the kind of job I was aiming for now that I have earned my degree.

I really am glad I got to wave the temp job goodbye. My new fixed job is what I truly want to do. Very challenging! I work as an addictions counselor, so relevant for me because last September I was finally able to break of a long term relationship with an addict.

Interesting times, to say the least. Haven't been this happy in a long, long time, despite of the circumstances that got me here.
