7.4 Should I add a "buy me a coffee" button to my site?

So, I have this website for a long time. I do add content from time to time with long pauses.
Got some nice comment and visitors (according to Google Analytics) are around 10/15 per day.
I maintain it just for sharing and I never thought of monetizing it.
However, lately, I thought it would have been nice to add a sort of "tip jar" where people that want to show their appreciation by donating can do it easily.
Also, I might come up in the future with some "paid content" (again, just some upgraded version of what I already share for free), and being already on a platform like "buy me a coffee" or "ko-fi" could be handy.
It could be nice if the site could repay itself (domain names are cheap but not free ...) but I can absolutely go with the current expense.
On the other hand, I always feared that adding some money-related feature to the site could shadow my willingness to just share the content with others.
That said, I just asked to the I Ching if it would have been appropriate for me to add such a button and got 7.4.

I'd love to hear what do you think the I Ching is suggesting here.

Thanks!
Remo

Hello,
I'd say do nothing for the time, as the line indicates camping in left. Wait a bit.

i feel 7.4 or the retreat of the army could be about that. are these returning visitors or do you consistently get new ones? i'd think once the traffic gets a little higher and you see more new visitors then this might work, but for 10-15 returning visitors it could indeed put them off a bit. maybe good to ask Yi how to get more traction and how to monetise the site and agree with mary it's not the right time to add such feature just yet.

Thanks Mary and legume!
I interpreted the response as if the I Ching telling me that adding the button it's not "inappropriate" per se. Doing it would not cause any real harm but, on the other hand, it would be better to think about it some more as there will be no benefit either.
The reason is in the secondary hexagram which tells me that I should clarify what I really want to do before. If I had a clear goal, I should do it.; if I have not a definite way to go, I should retreat.
As often happens the I Ching answered considering what's behind the words of my question. Reality is that I have not a clear goal for the site and adding the button was just something I thought on a whim, not part of any plan for the future of the site.

That said, I'll think twice and will reconsider when it will make more sense.

I think of 7.4 as meaning “ walk a mile in the other man’s shoes” as in see things from the other guys perspective. So maybe think How would such a button affect the visitors? Hilary has a button on the I Ching Free Reading page. I find I’ve gotten deeper clearer insights since I’ve started donating $10 a month. You get what you pay for! So anyway, maybe try donating to some site yourself and see how it feels. Also maybe have some noble purpose in mind for any donations you might receive.

Thanks, rosada.
Yes, I do understand the feeling.
As much as I can, I try to support content creators who share their content for free. It's to encourage them and show my appreciation for their work. I'm sure that even just an email or an online comment makes them feel they've not wasted their time and that what they did was worthy for someone else. A donation is just an additional (somewhat more concrete) way to give them feedback.
That's why I thought to add the button. Maybe, I thought, someone would want to show their appreciation this way.
But it seems it's not the right time, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing right now and see if things will change in the future.
