So I asked the oracle about the current positions me and my lover occupy within the context of our relationship to identify relative receptivity, reciprocity and commitment. The questions were basic and unambiguous, please define (1) "her position in the relationship", (2) "my position in the relationship", (3) "future direction of the relationship given our positions", (4) "eventual mutual experience of relationship given our respective positions", and (5) "eventual outcome of relationship".

To the first question, "her position in the relationship" the oracle answered with hexagram 13 unchanging. I understand this to be a solid foundation for a relationship but not necessarily marriage.

To the second question, "my position in the relationship" the oracle answered with hexagram 46 unchanging. I understand this to represent perseverance in the small things that build the relationship.

To the third question, "future direction of the relationship given our positions", the oracle answered with hexagram 22 unchanging which I understand to represent superficial beauty or happiness.

To the fourth question, "eventual mutual experience of relationship given our respective positions", the oracle answered with hexagram 45 unchanging which I understand to mean a deep spiritual connection.

The fifth and final question "eventual outcome of relationship" culminated in hexagram 48 unchanging which I understand to mean something mutual satisfying and beneficial.

All of these unchanging lines lead me to believe that the relationship is moving in a positive direction and that I should persevere.

When I asked the oracle whether I had presented my understandings correctly it supplied me with hexagram 20 also unchanging which I understand to be an affirmative response. Am I correct?

In a rather detached way, you are asking Yi for predictions that range far into the future. Your readings seem favorable, on the whole, and many would envy you that. But the I Ching is most forthcoming when dealing with the multitude of interactions that comprise everyday life.

You make a very powerful point. My life is changing very rapidly...and while much of it feels positive, I have a sense of urgency that at times threatens to overwhelm me. Not anxiety or panic persay just a lifting feeling in my belly...filling my chest. I could sense that each of the readings had unchanging lines and there were others that followed reiterating what I had already asked.

That said, I will head your feedback and restrict the scope of my questions to more immediate concerns. Again, thank you!

Greetings from Malaysia.

First of all, I find you post and readings interesting.

Looking at the Chinese I-Ching texts,
there could be other ways to interpret your unchanging Gua.
But I think it is not so important at this moment.
as I wish to share with you my observations
on your approach ..

i.e. it is a logical approach
from one event to next ...

Besides the fact that some of your requests to I-Ching
can be re-framed to reflect the present moment Now
even thought these are pointing to the future
I wonder whether the following request may reveal something
more interesting and useful to you

i.e.

"In the context of my relationship with my lover
please give me pointers about my current being
(state of mind, beliefs, EQ ...)
that can further enhance the relationship
helping each other to grow"

Hope the above helps.
