A tale of 44.

The older man?s base nature rose up within him. He?d been down this road enough to know the transitory tale. Such delusionary indulgences costs little when little stock is given her, yet for now, she was the entirety of his attention. It was fast and cheap, and he spent little time in remorse of the escape. The following morning the aging man wrote a poem; from the heavens, it seemed. ?So far from midnight?s dream, which fled from morning?s light. Now angels lift me in their flight.? The maiden had come to meet him.

Candid,

Did you consult the I Ching and get hx44?

If not, why talk of delusion and remorse?

You have been to hell and back so why not take your pleasure and enjoy it now. Your poem sounds blissful to me. Perhaps it's hx 31 after all?

A fellow older man,

Mick

Hi Mick,

Actually yes, I did. It was more a flash of inspiration than any sort of negative feelings. 44 is a hexagram that I've had to reach to find the positive message within. I do believe it is a potentially dark and seductive time, yet its also the lower chakra which becomes full, allowing the energy to rise up to heavenly realms. Its all the same energy. Sometimes it originates in the earth, and what grows - grows upward. At least that was the thought.

The origination of the emotion was loneliness. This came upon me of its own accord and 44 came as no surprise. Very fitting, actually. But trusting in transformation or even transmutation, the austerity of 14 years becomes revealed in its truth.

Hope no one has been offended by such candor.

Namaste,
Candid

Beautiful poem Candid-

I had a friend call me up the day you posted your poem, asking about Hex44... That day I was not sure what to make of it, but with your explanation I think I see what you are trying to say. Beautiful, and please keep sharing! You are a wise soul...

I loved your story and your poem. Beautiful (both).

My own experience with 44 is extensive, but not in regard to anything sexual. Every time when I asked about a certain person, an artist, and especially about cooperation, I got 44. In the course of many years at least 20 to 30 times. In the beginning it was alternated with other hexagrams, but later I got almost exclusively 44.
The cooperation started with many difficulties, but now it is great, rich and with huge results.

Could it be that 44 is an image of the soul: for men THE woman, a powerful woman and overwhelming image, and for women ?men?? Women don?t have a soul (-image) of THE man, somehow it does not interest them, contrary to what many men think ? or wish. Artists often, not always, personify this vague image, because they are in the first place artist, and only after that more or less male. The border between male and female is blurred, or maybe it is something different altogether. For women this image is just as overwhelming as the woman-image for men, just as threatening, but also with the creative potential.

The ideogram of 44 is a picture of a woman giving birth: making a heir, or maybe an image of creativity. Probably both.

LiSe,

Beautiful imagery, though a little tough to swallow whole - especially at first read. A woman has no soul? hmmm But I suppose when seen from the male psyche, its sort true, though it feels disturbing to even admit. No soul? Ok (thinking about this), what about Jung's coined phrase, "the shadow?" Doesn't this describe the same dark half-seen nature? The mysterious dark man? Aren't women just as attracted to the dangerous, unknowable, mysterious male image as the male to the seductive and whorish woman within him? mmmnooo... I believe a soul is a soul and we all possess our share of that dark mystery.

Overall, I do agree with your images and have shared similar experiences with 44. Its was your site and interpretation of 44 which helped to shed more light on the positive outcomes of the hexagram. Dangerous at first, rocking the boat on the tranquil lake. Disturbing the peace of self discipline. What good could come from it? Much, if one keeps things in perspective and chooses 31, regardless of the advancing darkness.

Please share your thoughts on this. "It is true that if we cannot be influenced ourselves, we cannot influence the outside world."

Namaste, and thank you for your influence.

Hi Anita and thanks for the compliment. I totally agree about candor and why else are we here? I've never understood why we humans tend to layer ourselves with so much veneer. It seems to rob us of our potential to really connect with others rather than preserve anything useful.

Thanks, Brian. Isn't it always a trip when those kinds of things happen? Synchronicity - gotta love it! As for being a wise soul, I dunno. Maybe its more like feeling the connection with everything and just moving spontaneously with it, trusting it? Not being afraid of it or being seen by it? "Its" always watching so why not acknowledge it and speak from it as the Spirit moves? Is this wisdom or just trust, maybe a little bravery thrown in?

Gotta love it!

Hi Candid, I don't think LiSe is saying women have no soul, rather she says "Women don't have a soul image of the man".

Yes, I agree with Louise. I read LiSe?s posting the same way. To say women have no soul would be a very odd remark indeed. I have always thought women were rather gifted in that area. As for LiSe?s proposition that ?Women don?t have a soul (-image) of THE man, somehow it does not interest them?, I find this contrary to my experience. I have listened my whole life to women compare men to Mr. Right (often unfavorably), and I wonder why that masculine ideal is not just as real and compelling as the one men are said to harbor in their fantasies about women? Both images seem to manifest themselves in reality all too rarely. In fact, I think it is possible that both ideals are really yardsticks for failure in the eternal war of the sexes. The plain truth is that humans are never satisfied.
