Hi everyone,

I have been entertaining the thought of a "career move" that would allow me to go on dancing as I so much want to, but is a bit unreasonable given the fact I am not young enough to start a new dance now. There are many older woman dancing it, but they dance since always, and will always dance - and I would have to start from scratch.

I have started, and I LOVE IT, but I am aware if I wanna follow up on this it would demand a much larger investment on my part.
For 3/4 months now I have been hesitating, attending classes irregularly and so.

Today I finally asked :

What can u tell me about the best investment to give to learning this dance in the upcoming months ?

27,1 > 23

I was so struck by this response that I had to ask something else. The problem with the "misfortune of loosing the magic turtle" in line 1 is that I dont understand whether is misfortunate to direct less time into my current projects to go on to learn something new, or to miss out on the chance to get into a dance that could keep me active for the rest of my life would that be the misfortune...?
then look envious to other dancers...
?

second perspective : what role does this dance play in my near future ?
64 (2,3) > 56

well, if 64 makes me hope that this could actually mean the transition from my current state of chaos and dispersion, 56 talks about something that just passes by... (or will I get so good that I ll start a tour???)
In line 2 I see some encouragement to go on even though it will be hard to catch this train and start from scratch (even though my cart doesnt run with the same wheels as the other girls...)
but line 3 seems to say i wont actually find any transition, or it can only come painfully slow... Im somehow hurrying things up ?

what do u feel ? would u back off and stick to business as usual, or be brave and venture into new realms ?
are there clear advices for me here I am not looking at ?

Much appreciated,
Yoana

27.1 can often indicate you don't need to ask the Yi to find the answer you can answer it all by yourself.

why not just do what you want

it would seem to me if engaging in an activity you 'love' there can be no reason to give it up...even if its not worth it in other ways

27.1 says something like 'you let go of your magic tortoise and look at me with your jaw hanging open'

IOW you let go of your own power to choose what nourishes you and look with longing at Yi

Yi may be saying 'you don't need me for this'

Other times it can be saying 'you don't need them'

You have to take some power back in 27.1.....your tortoise that is

I had a tortoise once...it was a tearaway

it would escape on a regular basis, fearless it would attempt to climb barriers and succeed...it ate neighbours lettuce

you can't under estimate them

they are easy to lose

Dear trojan, thanks. I had never looked at 27.1 like that. Went back to some other readings around this line and it does make sense.

But I have to still remark, even though the decision is ultimately always up to me, I do look forward to having Y as a good advisor. Its not that if the answer says misfortune I dont move and great good fortune i go for it - I asked for advise in how much to invest. For sure I will go on dancing it and learning it - but I can do it loosely when it feels like it, or I can really stop with other things and dedicate real time to becoming good at this.
And that is a delicate decision for me, when that I would appreciate more clarity with. Hence, the question.

Im involved in many other projects, and stuff that also demands dedication, hard work, time - as most things. The last years have shown me I have to learn to focus, finish things, go for things. My personality tends towards this "jack of all trades master of none" syndrome.

When I first danced it I actually felt - Gosh, this could be it.
It was already a beautiful encounter and that is not going to go away :)

Can I ask u if u have a take on 64 (2,3) > 56 ?

and in any case, that tip on 27.1 IS very useful, as well as reminding me I shouldnt give the stir of my life away to anyone or anything.

well 64>56 doesn't look like an exactly easy ride to me. 64 you are still very much in the process...but you know that.... 64.2 shows that putting the brakes on is a good idea (ie not going full on) but 64.3 is a strange line thats suggests being ready to take a risk and not expecting that everything will work out at once

56 may suggest it as a temporary thing you don't complete (64)

Actually you asked 'should i give full time to it or do it when i feel like it'. Thats a good question and i feel 64>56 does address it......quite directly. Take this nice and slow (64.2) don't worry too much about final achievements but don't give up either (64.3)

I think if you push it too much now it may be short lived (56) whereas if you take it real easy theres more chance of lasting achievement anyway. I know nothing about dance...but maybe this feels quite alien to you (56) and maybe you have to sort of come to know it in time more than all at once

This is great stuff, trojan. A temporary excitement not taken to completion would be really typical of me, and one reason that drove me to ask the Y for clarity was to avoid one more instance of that. Perhaps its just one more, but since this thread I have been dancing more often and the fact is it feels good.

I wont take any decision and just go with the flow. Thanks for your help, and I hope in 10 years time I update this thread with some good news :)

NO OUTCOME YET BUT (EIGHT MONTHS LATER)

Before entering 2012 I've decided to answer all unanswered mail, go over all the small tasks in the to-do list that never get done, give stuff away and - bring my online posts to a closure.

Im trying to go over everything I've posted in this forum to confirm that I always posted the Outcome. A lot of people never do and I find that a pity, it would be brilliant to know how some answers played out.

In this case! it is a process. It was about a dance that entered my life with great impact and I was afraid to get too caught up in it and it would lead me to a dead end. Both answers were ominous and unpromising BUT ACTUALLY since those days I have been investing more and it is becoming more and more rewarding. It has definitely become a center of my days.

So I have another take on this one:

what role does this dance play in my near future ?
64 (2,3) > 56

I had concluded that 56 pointed that it was one more of my whims and it would pass by but now I think that it has to do with all the traveling I have been doing in order to meet the right teachers. I left the city I was in and now I am considering to make a move to the place the dance comes from originally...
64 is very appropriate. This dance was the mediator between the strong chaos my life was at in this moment and the new purpose and direction I feel now.
About the lines Im not sure, but they both reflect the fact that it is hard. Im starting too late and the odds are against me. I have to work more than everybody else and sometimes is just plain frustrating.

But all in all, 8 months later, this dance was the best thing that happened to me in 2011... Im glad i went for it...
