About strategy. 55.4<>36

Hi,
I am in a tight spot and hope to have your clarity for this reading.
I sent a client's quote for a project and he called back and suggested a meeting tomorrow.
I asked IC how to get the deal, the answer was 55.4<>36.
My question is about strategy; I am tired of wasting time and energy at meetings without results, and as my first impulse is to do nothing till he gives his consent and sign the contract, I thought going bold is maybe the cause I spoil the offers. At the same time being too flexible doesn't bear fruits neither, it only attracts abusers.
So if I could find a way to keep to my ethics and not lose client is what is behind the question. I can't affroad wishful thinking nor to be exceptionaly firm as before.
The superior man in the image decides lawsuits and carries out punishments. And in line 4 he meets his kindered spirit. But we are still in 55 the hex of darkness, and the earth above light in 36 is a message to stop hiding my brightness.
I am so confused by what I read about the so hidden spirit and the darkness of inethical practices that my competitors are used to and also my fear of missing this chance again, that I can't see at all the strategy I asked about.

H55 is not a hexagram of darkness, but Abundance
As a strategy, I would see H55<>H36 as not immediately giving everything away. Be at first like H36, hidding your light.
The upper trigram Thunder in H55 generates Earth through the moving line at the 4th position.
Thunder wants to act immediately and the line at the 4th position wants to lead when it should follow.
Not a proper combination.
Hence the text of this line says:

Abundance is screened so completely
That one can see the polestars at noon
...

Here, progress is blocked because visibility is screened, in other words there is no clear understanding or overview of the situation

Earth advises giving space to others, being open to others' ideas, being receptive, follow. Hence the second part of the text says:

...
He meets a lord who is his equal.
Good fortune.

Together they figure it out, finding a solution based on equality.

This would be my interpretation. As always, take what resonates and leave the rest

I see the attitude you are drawing Hans; I couldn't see the movement of thunder as you describe it. Thank you. It means that the needed work here is to find a common ground first before investing anything about the project.
In my usual conversations I give many key informations before signing a contract, I thought it is my duty to explain, but they don't even pay the consultation and refuse the contract.
Being receptive is natural, I must make myself their equal first by making the boundaries clear, only then start my work.

Let the client take the lead tomorrow, let him/her talk and tell etc., your job is primarily to listen. You don't have to find common ground, if you listen and let the client tell you then it will show that the common ground is there. Be expectant from strength. Even though Fire is under the Earth in H36, she is still present.

You are already their equal, no need to make boundaries clear. Listen to what they say and you will find out that they are your equal

When he called the first time he made a suggestion to be associates, which is a delusive offer and non sense because 1/ the law gives me up to 5% so I am already an associate, and 2/ the only part I could bring is my work and the only frame from which we could do that is by a conventional contract. In fact what he insinuated is a delay in the paiements, as other peers work with a small pourcentage but they surely ask for half of it in the beginning.

I didn't comment and ignored his seductive lie. My proposal formulates all of the above in a contract which defines the legal conditions and makes my position clear regarding his offer and protects me as contractor.
I will meet him and listen.
If his aim is to offer less and delay the paiement too as I suspect since he didn't sign yet, I don't see how we could be equal.

Just to update.
He is looking for associates for financement apart from the landlord and he didn't mention my mission/contract, only some already known details about the project.
The conversation went more about renewing contact (we met once when I was in college, from a family contact), I think he got it that I am not a potential contributor, just a contractor, even though I could -with a contract- be paid later.
I had this nagging feeling of being evaluated, maybe it's my own doubts. He promised to keep me informed about his next meeting with the landlord, I think he was politely dismissing me.

So Yi was perhaps talking about him looking for an equal, but where is the 'good fortune' in that?
What is true for sure is H36, I feel so sad.

You asked for a strategy to get the deal not the outcome of a conversation, so the Yi gave you a strategy .A strategy is always a way of acting, an approach that has an effect in the longer term.
If I were you, I would wait a while before drawing a conclusion. The Yi's strategy is Abundance through Hiding the Light.
Hiding the Light can also mean here keeping you in limbo for a while.
Thunder with a moving line wants to see immediate results, Earth lets things grow and develop in the time it takes.
