Advice from 42.2

I've inquired about what actions I can take to change my social and romantic life which has been much needed isolation alongside unwelcome loneliness. I threw hexagram 42.2>61.

I see 61 in the background, esp line 2 of that hexagram as reflecting the sincerity of my desire for connection with others. I have spent the past 4 years focused on healing emotionally, getting in touch with my authentic self, and releasing relationships built on the emotional fragility of my former self. I feel more in touch with my needs with better emotional and personal boundaries, and I've been cultivating the courage to show up authentically to my life. I'm pleased with how far I've come.

I'm not quite sure what to make of line 2 in hexagram 42. It's not a hexagram or a line I have experience with.

The consensus from experiences posted in WikiWing seem to center around hard won goals. Reaching ones desired goal, but it not being a smooth or easy path. I'm not sure how to take this as advice, other than maybe that I will reach my goal. But what is it saying that I should do? Perhaps nothing, or to continue what I've been doing?

Any help and insight is deeply appreciated.

I don't think 42.2 is about hard won goals, it's a blessing one cannot argue with

'Maybe increased by ten pairs of tortoise-shells.
Nothing can impede or contradict this.
Ever-flowing constancy, good fortune.
The king makes offerings to the supreme good - good fortune.'

Where it says 'nothing can impede or contradict this' the intelligence we call Yi (whose identity people have differing ideas about) is taking pains to stress that this is definite, there's no ifs or buts here. That is because it's a blessing. It could well be an earned one but whether it is or not there is no contradiction to the blessing.

In my experience this has been blessing beyond expectation.

The answer seems to bypass the answer to speak about Increase, a time where one's cup is filled and specifically in line 2 where there is no arguing with this 'if you are going to have something good you will have it' says Yi no arguing.

This implies to me there isn't a specific action you need to take other than to have confidence in fulfillment. Although it does say

'Ever-flowing constancy, good fortune.
The king makes offerings to the supreme good - good fortune.'

This means to go on being true and steady to aims, to go on to be being dedicated to the good and to make connection with/make offerings to the 'supreme good'. I think that is one's connection to God or the universe or however you think of it. It supports your efforts thus far and promises fulfillment.

Thank you. The yi can be quite sobering when asking questions of this nature. This gives me hope to know that there are good things associated with this line. I'm open and ready.

Updating to say that there has been some movement in my social life. Met a friend who I share many interests with. We meet up to rollerblade, walk, or ride bikes. We also share an interest in must and art in general and have plans to hang to do those things together as well. It's been a lot of fun and a perfect addition to my life in terms of the time I have available and the things I really wanted to connect with others over.

There has also been movement on the romantic front. I actually did a reading on that connection today and will share it in another thread, but I was reminded of this reading upon coming here to share. Will link that reading here once I post.
