Hello !
I just read Long Yi's explanation in the shared readings : it's dizzying and mindblowing ! So I wonder if the texts of each hexagram and each line really correspond to something ? Example for 8.3: for me, it was the worst line of the hexagram 8 (with line 6) ! And in his explanation, it's the opposite... Well, what is his school ?
Thanks Trojina , I'll go this closer... I am very intrigued by this because it is all about human relationships, men and women... And I think more and more that YI Ching is talking about this... and not if the cat goes into the garden or not
When I say "men, women ", I mean the lives of human being... Heterosexuals, homosexuals and others for that matter ! I see hexagrams as situations in life, possible evolutions towards the best, defects, qualities, job, psyche and steps of self-realization....and the future somethimes ! For example, the answer of Yi Ching and Long Yi about this woman who wants to see her son, it is very surprising 58 - 8 : it is very different from the context... Wellif the question is to do with a heterosexual relationship then the answer may be about that. But if someone asks another question, and God knows there's more in life than that to ask about, then the answer will be about what they asked about.
If someone asks about their cat there is no reason the answer would not be about their cat unless you believe the only thing that matters to anyone in the world is male/female relationship which would be a very narrow focus.
I don't know what you mean.
and not if the cat goes into the garden or not
For example, the answer of Yi Ching and Long Yi about this woman who wants to see her son, it is very surprising 58 - 8 : it is very different from the context.
Yes but I'm not sure what your point is ? What are you asking for in this thread ?
58- 8 : this doesn't look at all like the context of their relationship, which seems complicated...
Yes I know... difficult to explain my thoughts (French, English, Yi Ching!) on this reading that I do not understand ... See you soon for new readingsI really don't know what you mean ? I don't understand that sentence. The person gave the context and the reading, they know the context.
You are discussing someone's reading in Shared Readings here in Exploring Divination. Why not discuss it on the actual thread there, why here ?
I don't know what you are asking about Long Yi ? Everybody gives different interpretations, we don't have to agree with them they could be totally wrong.
No big deal. We were talking about viewing inner and outer trigrams, with the inner trigram referring to the querent and the outer trigram referring to the situation she is facing. You weren't so enthusiastic about the concept. I find it useful, but as an add-on to the interpretation of the text itself, not as a replacement.I don't know what you mean re trigrams or what comments you mean but if you want to talk to me about it contact me and tell me what you are talking about.
Hehe. It seems like there are a few cats on this forum. It occurs to me the cat in the garden referred to might be connected to your cat thread in the free public forum, SR. It was there after all that a discussion took place about letting cats outside. Hence matali may have been referring to your cat.
