hallo. i would like to ask for your input on thos reading. i an selling an apartment and buysing two small one, one for me one to rent. i asked the iching if it can describe the situation. i have no idea about what this means-but i was thinking about a guy i like,could the iching (jokingly?) talk about him instead?
i got hex 31.6 to 33.

Good fortune comes from this more feminine way of relating: being open and allowing space for new influences.

The old Chinese character for 'retreat' shows a pig and footsteps on the road; perhaps this pig is running away so as not to be eaten.

Retreat means withdrawing from what can harm you, or what might swallow you up: it is a way to keep yourself whole. So retreating creates success: it is not defeat, but the way to avoid defeat, like an army that falls back and stays intact. When you retreat, you hide yourself away – you might disappear into the landscape altogether – so that you will not lose yourself.

Retreat moves away from threats, and towards wholeness and integrity. It is a way to be constant to principle, and to yourself, by paying less attention to immediate results. The army that is loyal to a longer-term objective will retreat in good order rather than linger to gather spoils. The hermit, constant to the truth he perceives, withdraws from society into an inner space; he is not interested in claiming tangible rewards. Such constancy, offering no resistance and creating no friction, bears fruit in small, inconspicuous ways.

That was not the intention of the question was it?
In my opinion, the Yi does not answer questions or provide insight into situations that are not asked (about). If it did, then any answer would be applicable to everything. That way, you never know what exactly an answer is given to.

I think the Yi says that the days of influencing the situation of selling and buying appartments are over.
The text of the 6th line says: "Influence in the jaws, cheeks, and tongue." So that is no influence at all, but just empty words that have no effect. It is the last line in the hexagram, after this there is nothing more. In other words, the moment for real influence has passed.
Trigram Lake changes into Heaven: Lake with a moving line at the 6th position is about losing touch with reality, not seeing what is really going on. The change to Heaven indicates the importance of overseeing the situation and getting clear to yourself what the situation really is.

H31 changes into H33 Retreat: as the name of the hexagram implies, this is about retreating or distancing yourself from a situation.

As I see it, the Yi's advice is to withdraw from selling and buying apartements. Whether you want to follow that advice is, of course, entirely up to you.

Addition: It could be that finances play a role in the advice to withdraw. Trigram Lake is about exchange and trigram Heaven about money and time/timing. Lake is out of balance and is related to Heaven. So this could indicate that something is out of balance in the exchange of money or that it is just not the right time.

This would be my interpretation. Take what resonates and leave the rest

thank you for your reply! since i just agreed upon a price with a buyer ig may mean that there is not a time for influencing as the sitution has been decided. buying a new placento live is something i have to do somehow but maybe i will pause a bit thanks

Was this already going on when you asked the question? Because the text of the 6th line could also mean that these are empty words from the buyer and he/she is still withdrawing after all. I would be very careful here and only proceed once a contract is signed and the money is in your account.

sure - i will not do anything before i have the cash. i have bern running a small business for 13 years and was freelancing before soci know that evennif people promise things and even sign contract it might still not happen
