Are they angry at me now?

Hi folks,

Me again.

I asked a question from the I-Ching if someone was angry at me now. ( not the man I am seeing which I posted about in another thread-this is someone else, a good friend)

Some tension has been building for some time now and
some things were said, so I asked if _____ was angry with me right now.

I got

Hex 9:4 changing to 1

I think its such a clear answer its a shame to tell you what I think because hopefully you can decipher it yourself. You must have some thoughts on it ?

Clue.....what does 'bad blood' between people usually mean ? What is the 'bad blood' in 9.4 doing ?

Well I think it says YES, but real damage has been averted?

Well with just one line moving its pretty important....so IMO you don't need to stress too much over hex one. You could say i suppose that line 4 is the oneness of hex 9 ..if that makes sense. Hex 1 among other things is creative potential, the male principle in life.....the primal creative force.....but to me 9.4 answers your question


Anyway if bloodshed is averted then anger and pain are averted, and as you quote, any cause for concern disappears...so no I do not think there is any serious or lasting anger here. This line says you have no need to worry about this if your motives were sincere, which seems they were.

Perhaps there was a situation verging on anger...but its okay, its passed or will shortly pass, due to sincerity. Whatever is threatened does not come to pass....but you are very apprehensivve.


This is a very reassuring line and encourages a bit more confidence in yourself.

That is what I thought like I said, no "lasting" damage. Yes I was sincere and they know I was. Not a huge deal. I suppose at times I worry too much.

I just could not understand Hex 1 pertaining to my question.

I think the moving line transforms the hexagram of small matters into hexagram 1 because it is demonstrating that you are a contributor, a creator, of so much that is positive for yourself and others that it would be petty to focus on whatever these small conflicts may be about -- however irritating they may have seemed at the moment. The history of your relationship is predominantly good, and a friend would not be a friend who would eclipse that over a small matter.
