Agreed Martin. I have been doing chakra meditation for years, when I first started it required my full focus, mainly because it was new to me and concentration was a must, and also because it was exciting - the first time we got ice skating or the first time we kiss a girl, we do not think about other things/multi-task, everything we are is 'in the moment'.

The more I became accustomed to the meditative process, the more I realised it connected us MORE with 'universals' than non-meditative consciousness. The emphasis was no longer on 'trying' to meditate, instead it was on expanding awareness, broadening the vision. For example, if you sit in a forest and look around, you will notice many different movements, all seemingly non-related. A squirrel runs up a tree, a Robin playfully swoops in the branches to your left, the wind blows this way, blows thay way, over here, over there. But, when truly still yourself, and just let go, be in the moment, without any grasping or seeking, your whole experiences enhances enormously. Suddenly, every movement is connected, your vision does not separate the Robin, squirrel or movements of the trees. All movement is just one, so beautiful.

When I meditate now, it doesnt imply sitting down cross-legged, or lying on a bed with my back flat and eyes closed. Through years of practise I am able to engage the same conscious state when I am socialising, or walking or doing other tasks. The calmness and clarity it brings me enables a greater understanding of the moment, and this is VERY VERY IMPORTANT - If you are truly in the moment, then you are also in the past, and future, because all is connected. Mediatation isn't about 'focus' - the act of sharpening your eyes on one particular element - meditation is about 'unfocus' and allowing all 'universals' to merge as one.

And Chris, IF you disagree with this, then I can say with confidence it is because you haven't experienced it

Hi Martin:

What kind of practice have you done?
Have you ever looked into the Stephen Levine meditations? He did work with Ram Dass, Buddhism, Kubler-Ross and others. He wrote Healing into Life and Death, Embracing the Beloved, Who Dies and many other books. He and his wife Ondrea worked with dying people and grief alot.

".. every movement is connected, your vision does not separate the Robin, squirrel or movements of the trees. All movement is just one, so beautiful."

What is there more to say? Yes!
When I had such experiences for the first time what amazed me was the order that is apparently present in even the greatest turmoil. It seems that chaos in fact doesn't exist!
Of course this "order" is a natural fluid one, not bound by the rules of any system. Beyond mind, I guess.

Hi Rosalie,

What kind of practice have I done? Hard to say. My background is mainly in Sufism and in Sufism - at least in the kind that I encountered - there is no particular technique or practice that stands out. There is also no spelled out belief that one is supposed to adhere to and there are no rigid rules, no do's and don't's. It's all about living and living is .. whatever comes up.
As one teacher ("murshid") used to say: everything is interesting.

Everything is interesting. Does that define my "practice"? Maybe ..
However, I don't really need to practice that. Everything IS interesting! No exceptions.

I don't know Levine, Rosalie, and Kubler-Ross only from hearsay. Or is that readwrite?

But I have a few books of Ram Dass. One of them is "Miracle of Love" about his guru. I love it.

Hi Martin:

I guess however you get there is good enough, right?

Now they came out with something I read on Friday that those who meditate have thicker brains - which prevents memory loss in old age.

I agree with what you said about everything is connected. It helps see the world as so beautiful and meaningful. I'm so far from that at this point!

Thanks,
Rosalie

Hi Cris

A wonderful oportunity to show how ICPlus give better answers than others aproaches to Yi Jing.

In friend's area, see the last post about "finding the reason".

You could use ICPlus to give the consultant a "better fit" answer:
a) if she will get the written answer, and in which day; or
b) if she won't get the written answer, and in wich day her request will be refuse.

Lovely oportunity, don't you think?

best wishes

In traditional teachings, Yi Jing helps to shows how 3 "Powers" acts in any situation: Heaven, Earth and Man... there are a 4 situation, beyond heaven, eart and man actiosn: random

so the questions related to random cann't be answer by Yi Jing (like lotto.. that you like so much)

But when the questions is related to heaven's actions; earth's actions (earthquake, by example) or Man's action, it can be predicted.

Now.. don't "asure" me anythig (that is asking me to "believe" what you asure).. probe it empirically.

ps... at the light of your point of view, you try to muck on me with this sentence

"I also note that Jesed makes no distinctions of time zones etc but I must assume that his method 'magically' does"

Empirical fact: the consultant confirmed that the question was made on February 18.
