I asked if my partner always tells me the truth. We live apart to see if things will work. But there are time when she says she wants her space. I get a little scared, because I have been cheated on before. She says no, that she just needs me time. I recieved hexagram 27 what does it mean?

Literally, this hexagram is called ‘Jaws’: it means not only what you eat, but all the processes and structures that sustain nourishment. ‘Things are tamed, and so there can be nurturing, and so Nourishment follows.

‘Nourishment nurtures correctly;
Great Exceeding overbalances.’

Option one, assuming that the Yi is being a fly on the wall - you're dealing with an introverted person who is easily overwhelmed (28) by all the impressions from the world around her. So naturally she will want more alone time than an average Jane, if I may say so Her wanting alone time is her way of nourishing her soul (27) with some peace and quiet and reflection (26).

Option two, assuming that the Yi is addressing your thoughts - watch out what (negative) thoughts you feed your mind with

Again, watch out what (negative) thoughts you feed your mind with, hence yes, she is speaking the truth.

It creates problems with interpretation when we ask the I Ching about what other people are thinking and doing. Sometimes Yi answers plainly enough and yet at other times the responses seem odd, as in this instance. If I were you, I'd follow kkappa's advice and not feed such negative thoughts to your own mind.
