Asking for interpretation

Dear friends,

We have recently had a very big problem regarding our house and the bank has come very close to selling our house. Some of my international friends whom I have known for years now have very generously suggessted to start collecting money to help us not to lose the house. I am so thankful to their generous hearts but at the same time I feel a bit embarressed. I don't know whether to accept this offer of help or not. I asked Iching and the answer was:

Well, looking at it from the perspective of the translation I am using, it would appear to be telling you NOT to reject this help. At least, that is the way I see it. Here is the one I am using, what do you think?

27. Hunger

Line 3:

Rejecting hunger.
Persisting brings misfortune.
In ten years never useful.
This lacks a beneficial purpose.

Not acknowledging one's desire. Going on with this makes things not go well. This can keep going on for years, and it's really of no use.

Changing to:

22. Beautifying

Beautifying.
Progressing little.
It is beneficial to have a goal to move to.

Making something beautiful. This makes for only little actual progress, as it isn't about what actually matters. It is a good idea to have a goal for this.

Dear foxx, thank you so much for your rePly. I am using Wilhelm's translation. It is clear in the original saying but when it comes to his interpretation of this line, he seems to be saying something different! That makes me confused.

I agree with foxx for the most part. I just have one thing to add: the only reason not to accept help is due to the secondary hexagram: Grace or Beauty. Keeping appearances. If this is of such deep concern, you could put someone between you and the source of your help. A lawyer, a friend, your partner, etc. But it wouldn't be completely advised, and it would only be to satisfy your ego. I mean, you're in a bad place, the best thing to do would be to just outright accept help.

Yes, I used the Wilhelm translation for years, but lately this one (see signature below) seems somehow more straightforward (less intellectual and cultural baggage from the brilliant Wilhelm). It was designed to be thus, and yes, various translations/commentary do seem to contradict each other. I would agree with mryou1 about H22, btw.

My dear friends, thank you very much for your advice! Dear Foxx thank you for introducing this version Iching. Dear Mryou, I will accept the help straight forwardly. I think this is more honest. Even though I feel embaressed, yet it is my parents' only shelter and I will do this for them. Thank you both again
