Having made my decision to go ahead with this I was confronted with another issue.

My partner in this wants me to sign a contract. Now, I don't usually work this way and I was a bit hesitant when I heard this. Would the Yi tell me, "It's OK. Go for it" or not?

Why does she want me to sign a contract with her?

54.4 to 19

The marrying maiden draws out the allotted time.
A late marriage comes in due course.

The girl is virtuous. She does not wish to throw herself away, and allows the customary time for marriage to slip by. However, there is no harm in this; she is rewarded for her purity and, even though belatedly, finds the husband intended for her.

Of course, 54 is about a feeling of powerlessness or truly being powerless. Things are happening which you have no control over.

Clearly, 54 in this case refers (I believe) to a feeling of insecurity on her part. Things have taken longer than they should have (true) and she needs a bit of security. However, everything will work out in the end.

Again, I don't feel that the Yi is steering me away from this project or trying to warn me in any way. 19, the relating hex, is very positive.

Your insight is much appreciated.

Line 54.4 suggests that you don't consider it proper to have to sign a contract, so you stall for time, in this case you are waiting for more information but like the line says when the time is right then you will sign cheerfully.

Hex 19 is about the aftermath where everything is starting to flourish.

Your answer does not show any monkey business going on here.

Without going into the details of it, I think she might be the one stalling for time. Suddenly it just hit me.

Because signing a contract seems a bit irregular under the circumstances, unnecessary.

But, according to the Yi her reason does not appear to be a bad one and my gut is telling me that it's OK.
