Hi and thanks again for the forum - I have been finding myself thinking that perhaps I need a break from work,I've worked full time and long hours for 25 years and genuinely feel that I deserve a lonish holiday,I'm not so wealthy that the decision is easy, especially considering the current economy and job market - however I feel certain that some time away from work is necessary. I try to contemplate myself surrounded by conditions that would make this situation a reality but it somehow feels out of reach, unattainable. I asked I ching and received 58 >4>59 - any help interpreting would be greatly appreciated - P1

Although the gua is a lake or marsh, it is also an image of talking. It is about pleasure. It says that you must speak with sincerity, honesty, and harmony. Moving line is unresolved. So, much has to be said before things come to some resolution. Otherwise, the joyousness of 58 does indicate that you get what you want and things will go as hoped. So, the approach needed is one of being very careful about what you say and you ought to move to taking off some time. It is propitious. Because 59 follows 58, one can assume that dispersion will come immediately after you have worked things out. 59 means that any bad luck you have had will dissolve. It indicates a journey away from home, gained with the help of someone else or others. You must remain positive so that you do not suddenly faill into a lack of will or becoming fickle. In other words, be careful. Be moderate in your actions. 59. by the way, is good for ships and shipping out. There's always the cruise. To sum up: Be prudent and careful about what you say: You will get the support you need to get away from work. Both hexagrams are promising.

Not sure what lines you've gotten here? Is it 58 changing to 59? 58 with line 4 changing? For 58 to change to 59, lines 1,4 and 6 have to be changing.

The lines seem to indicate that you need to talk and negotiate with someone to achieve this. Possibly an employer? If it's a fulltime job or permanent part-time surely you would be entitled to paid annual leave? I see line 4 as saying that nothing's been settled as yet, that you need to talk and discuss the issue with someone to get a result. Lines 1 and 4 look pretty positive for discussions going well if you try. There needs to be a common concensus reached it would seem. I guess that this would be an employer agreeing to give you time off. Line 1 would suggest that asking in a truthful, friendly, honest and calm way will result in you being listened to and considered. You need to ensure that things are in harmony in some way before you broach the subject. I'm not sure if your issue with taking time off is with your employer, or just that you're worried about not having money come in if you take time off. Not sure what line 6 is saying, something about being drawn by satisfaction, thinking too much of the outcome you want maybe? Maybe you're feeling a bit emotional and letting your thoughts get carried away? Not a line I fully understand. I would say that if you feel you need time off you should take it, try to make it happen by negotiating with others around you. Maybe even for financial help, or help round the house so that you can relax when at home maybe to at least give you a mini-break in your hours/days off work? Burn-out is not a good thing, sometimes just having time off work and hanging out at home can be as good as a holiday away somewhere.

Thank you -

Firstly thanks to icastes - I think you're right, speaking is clearly required and I will contemplate conversations, communications and ask for guidance - what I really need to do is decide,I'm kind of drifting right now and becoming a little jaded with work and studying A-level psychology in my spare time - I appreciate your advice, thank you.

alyce21 - thanks also, yes I have a limited knowledge of i-ching and often confuse people here ! I use this site for my readings as I find it accurate - here's a screen shot of the changing lines HERE I hope that make more sense now - it says line 4 applies ? You again have made sense,I'm not sure how this is going to happen but it is a case of believing and letting go,and also knowing that reality will not change, only I can change and that ultimately external pressures are illusionary.
I have some money and could afford to leave work for a while,I'm just concerned about finding another job or asking for an extended holiday/sabbatical. It's just finding the conviction - I just can't mentally picture the outcome - thus I'm finding it hard to manifest - Yes being drawn my satisfaction would be appropriate - I need to become vibrationally at peace in the here and now,the prize has become more important than the journey - ever grasping ! I'll be more at home at home and relax more. I also have a dog who's very old and when I picture my self away from home I also know that he may not be around (dead) - so there's a conflict !
Thanks again for your advice - God bless -
