I asked how do I dint the centre within?

The yi answered 21.1.4.23

Line 1
'Shoes locked in the stocks, feet disappear – not a mistake.'

Line 4
'Biting into dried, bony meat, gains a metal arrow.
Constancy in hardship bears fruit – good fortune.'

Seems like a very practical answer...for I certainly am in need of practice.

The 'immobilisation' I am experiencing is part of the process...to help find exactly this.

And persistent engagement with the 'situation' I will find a root cause? Keep trying?

The 23 could be the context of the situation...of splitting apart...of a tendency to not engage with certain challenges (traumatising instances...) from a wholistic place.

As I write it occurs to me, the metal arrow could be the 'trigger' scenarios...

Yes, that would be helpful...wouldn't it? To get a handle on what triggers the splitting apart, that then causes one to ask, seek to find the centre within.

On the whole, it seems to a process answer...

Any takers who would like to flesh out this dried bone scenario?

Thanks.

Hi sorry what is the question , i dont quite understand.

Line 1 is that something is holding you back however this is preventing some kind of errors

Line 4 I find quite fortunate or can be, my experience is something is not clear but soon will be.

Thanks...I meant to write 'find' don't know how that could have transformed into 'dint'...

To centre within...

have you been taking actions to progress in the direction you want so as this becomes more apparent?

Hi Steve.

Thanks for asking...may be it is from god's mouth to your ears...or something...like that.

The answer is yes and no. The direction I want is obviously 'in'...so that the outward movement or not can be made in relaxed ease.

I might be a victim of practising opposing ideologies...having somewhere along lost the inner certitude and clarity of purpose, by allowing and accepting an intractable and nefarious influence...which has muddled up *everything*...

This state of utter not knowing has been the case for long now...At the beginning it was with effortless grace and a great deal of panache this was practiced...and may be somewhere along the way, the not knowing got codified into a state of paralysis, instead of absolute freedom, and carefree joy.

I mean, with all the thoughts that march through your mind...how do you know which is truly yours? Is any?

So yes, I have been finding the golden arrow...again and again and losing it just as much...and I fight with my feet, for they are in stockade...

Still circling...around the centre...instead of being...it.

Is that a rumi quote? 'What you are seeking, is seeking you'?

It is interesting...it is just the shoes that are locked! not my feet!!!

I do like walking barefoot in warm climes and clean places...

In some belief systems, shoes are associated with one's karma...

Footloose and fancy-free can also be an attitude...with measure, can be a very good thing...my old free spirit rejoices and revisits her pollyanna self.

blessings to all, from the shoeless one :)

The flipside is that some hoary places *need* functional footwear...And I do think (wonder) if part of the lesson plan is to learn to walk with shoes...without always sliding my feet out and slipping off...which would be the tendency to disassociate that seems to have been wrongly practiced upon as a spiritual attitude...in a unwholesome way.

Interestingly enough I have been having a couple of dreams involving shoes in the past week...one was being fitted with a sort of suede loafer with very thin soles...that may not have been big enough...and the other just this morning...working in some kind of farm (one of my runaway fantasies) shovelling hay and poop and noticing the sludge was all over my hiking boots...and thinking these boots are too good for this...the arrow is always in the commentating...

All along there is a lovely lovely pair of mauve-pink suede shoes just waiting for me to wear and accept them...and that is the struggle, so to speak...accept those pink suedes for a particular walk around the block, instead of slipping out of them to run away so i can be 'footloose and fancy free'...which is not the time or place for right now.

Thanks for asking. It frees up my mind to free associate from the solitariness of my underground bunker cave.

All best.

Interesting dreams on shoes Mira72!
I just received this cast today, on 'a good way to stay centered in my Tao, be able to find my inner wisdom during dark or painful times'.
The shoes is definitely relevant to me, I have often had shoe dreams, or actually lost shoes (2 pairs, 2 days in a row at Loughcrew) in interesting circumstances

From your posts it is clear that you have a strong desire to find your centre and have had a mixed bag of moving towards, moving away and losing it completely. 'Not knowing' looks to be something that hampers you on an ongoing basis. So.......

How do I find the centre within? 21:1.4 >23

21: Work your way with gentle determination through the things that you think are holding you back or keeping you away from your centre. Expect two steps forward and one step back as you address each matter.
line 1 - somewhere you have lost sight of the fundamentals, been trying too hard and you have lost your way.
line 4 - all of what has been happening in and around you has been gearing you up for your next progression, however do not expect it to be easy for you. That is the way of things sometimes.
23: As you remove each of the out moded thoughts, patterns of behaviour and emotional reactions you are moving slowly towards your goal.

Good Luck

EmMacha answered an old thread from April 2017, it is not current.

So the thread was started over 18 months ago and was revived by Em Macha so now it looks as if it is current so other people start answering as if it were a current thread.

Mira72 has not even been here since August 17.

She may be back but if not you'll know the reason - this thread is not current

On some forums 'necro posting' is banned -(necro posting being reviving long dead threads) for the very reason that other people will come along and answer the original querent a decade later thinking it's current.

Well this thread isn't quite that old

I think when responding to old threads it's always worth checking when it was posted and when the person was last here.

point noted about old threads and checking OP activity.
Is there a way to auto-close threads after a certain length of lack of activity?

Apologies online clarity community

I don't know. People can close their own threads but not others obviously. Perhaps it might be counterproductive for old threads to be locked, not sure. I have to admit sometimes I think there would be less confusion if threads were shut after several years although people do occasionally come back to their own threads years later.

Anyway no need to apologise, lots of people add comments to old threads and sometimes the original poster comes back, this one might since it wasn't so long ago. It's just there are times when people awaken a 5 year old thread then others start answering the original poster who has long gone and it can get confusing. I have seen people address comments and questions to people who died 10 years ago. The funniest one was where someone years ago had asked simply 'shall I go out tonight ?' and a decade later someone answered him and if the age of the thread hadn't been pointed out I'm sure half a dozen other helpful people would have chimed in with analysis and view on whether the person should go out that night or not.
