Hello all,
first of all, I'd like to apologize for my English - I'm from Germany, so it's not my native language.
I'm pretty new to the I Ching, but I will try to give you my take on the reading afterwards.
Currently, I'm working on a big radio art project together with quite a huge cast (more than 40 people). In order to succeed, I have to clinch three (more or less) separate deals at once, which means several sponsors, interested advertisers in order to finance the whole project. It's quite a daunting task and I feel pretty much exhausted right now. Not only are there so many things to do, so many people that I have to accord with, but the success of the project itself is - of course - quite unknown and uncertain.
So that's why I asked the Yi:
"What are my chances to succeed with this project in the way I imagine?"
The answer was: 42.3.5 > 22
For me, it seems to be quite optimistic. After one really exhausting day of talking with many different people I was quite surprised, to be honest. That’s why I decided to put this in the "Shared-readings"-section.
Here is my take on it: The third line seems to point out the stressful situation I'm in right now - full of unknowns and many different obstacles. If I'm correct, some translators put the third line roughly as "a difficult situation turned to your advantage", right? If so, it would certainly indicate to be my situation right now. Tbh, I'm doubting my whole engagement right now, I'm on the verge of terminating the whole project.
However, line five seems to be extraordinary positive - I'd put it at "you will likely be substancially successful, if you're able to stay confident."
The related hexagram - (most of you would interpret it more as the context than the outcome, right?) - is pretty good with all things arts, isn't it? If so, I would see it more as the context of my question, the "anchor" of the question itself, so to speak, so the project itself. However, if you put it as an outcome, it will become less encouraging, because it speaks of things that are delusional, shallow and superficial. Well, I'm not so sure how to put it altogether - I'd appreciate any take on this reading from you guys:bows:.
