changing name and hex 5.6>9

Hello everyone,

I am seriously considering changing my first name, e.g. the name people use to adress me. I can't change it officially yet, since it costs a lot of time and money, but I can alrady start telling people I want to be called a different first name. The only people I have to tell are the guys at my work and my mom and sisters, that's it. If they don't like it, then screw them.
So I asked the iching: What are the prospects if I start calling myself that from now on to people? answer was hex 5.6>9

What do you guys think?

I will try to help out in sharing my perspective, although you have way more experience than myself! 5 waiting, having truth, shining expansion, determination auspicious.
line 6, 3 visitors come, respect them and all will be well. Help will come from someone you least expect. You wait by shutting yourself off from external influences.
9, Slowly but surely everyone will accept. exercise power by yielding, friendly persuasion. Use strength but also flexibility. Strong Yang line is progress and success.

Bruce, waiting and restraint pretty much says to not get ahead of yourself. Line 6 shows there will be a time to take action, and you will know when that is, but it isn't now.

I'm thinking the waiting might be significant here.

You mentioned in your post the people who would change what they are calling you. Before going through an expensive legal route, have you spoke with those people and asked them to call you something different? Start with your family. You might be given more to consider if you're forthright about your wishes... Or, perhaps they will comply with your wishes and call you by the name you wish.
