I started an 'I Ching links' thread in a Facebook group, listed a few (here, LiSe's, Brad's, Ewald's, Jaliya, GreatVessel.com) and asked, 'What have I missed?' And in the next post...

tsk tsk Hilary, you missed out on The Emotionall I Ching where we move the IC from the 10th century BC into the 21st century AD! ;-)

The book will be out in about two weeks - see sample overview at:

http://www.lulu.com/content/paperback-book/the-emotional-i-ching/6393965

and the website prototype is still active:

There you go. Never say I don't keep you informed.

I thought you subscribed to his Yahoo group... He announced it there. I haven't mentioned myself because folks in Clarity, in a general sort of way, are mostly deaf to his ideas or right down hostile (Chris' bubbling personality is a factor, I know, but I rather go for the substance --- some "experts" of late are just the "bubbly" and none of the flavor, I'm afraid...) I don't presume to understand everything he says, or that I even agree with many of his theories and goals, but the man has a privileged theoretical mind and, for me, that's what's important to respect what he has to say.

I'm on record, here and elsewhere, of asking Chris for a book with his views and theories, something I could hold in my hand and concentrate on. Happy to see it becoming a reality (even if I end up using it as a doorstop... :D)

I think Chris has a fine mind, my problem was with his writing style..very hard to follow. I wonder if he has found a superb editor who will make his ideas understandable to the mainstream. that would be great.

LOL, I'm afraid we'll be on our own there (or worse, we could always ask him for clarification...)

LOL. I'm glad finally Chris got his book out. What a fine mind indeed. I think he's really on to something with his system. It's just a shame that he wasn't able to communicate without leaving his I Ching ivory tower. Boy, was that impenetrable. If he'd been able to dismantle that then things might have been very different. The messenger and the message are important in my view.

I always found it a pity that Chris left the forum, I learned a lot from him. He had a very interesting and in many ways a new look on the Yi.
On the other hand the discussions with him and also his answers went in several directions I couldn't follow and also I didn't wish to follow.
Yes, he had a big ego and he was resonating with a lot of other big and sensible ego's.

Some posts were sometimes more than funny, others over the top. But there was always some action with him in the neighborhood.
But I will buy his book I'm still very curious what his book is like.

I wonder if he has found a superb editor who will make his ideas understandable to the mainstream that would be great.
"This book serves three purposes; one is to supply an example of a form of the I Ching that is consistent, testable, and useful for analysis of those moments of emotion-based uncertainties in regard to some situation. The second purpose of the book is to supply a source for continued analysis of the psychological, sociological, and philosophical aspects of reality as experienced through the I Ching filter. The third purpose of the book is to show the Emotional I Ching as a product of applying a methodology in interpreting the source of meaning and language – this methodology is called IDM (Integration, Differentiation, and Meaning) and covers the roots of meaning in our neurology."

"understandable to the mainstream" isn't his ambition :bows:

I am very intrigued by Chris' work and found if I actually started at the beginning of his writing -- with a hard copy to mark up -- I could get through it much better.

Are there enough people interested in his book to create a thread to "translate" it -- I imagine we have enough different backgrounds that if we ask and answer each other, we can make some headway :duh:

Anyone in with me for this?

OMG, does it need "translation"? I had hoped that Chris' book would be easier to read than his posts here on Clarity and a few dozen other sites, including his own.
As Chris has often said himself, the basic ideas of his approach are very simple. No rocket science there. But his writing style ...

Today I got a copy of his book. Looks interesting at first sight. A lot of Xor references and other Chris specialities. He has some very interesting ways to look at the Yi
Good to have a copy.
