How can I become his life partner ?

it said: 5.3.6 to 61

Your reading resulted in the following hexagrams:

changing to
5 61

Hexagram 5, Waiting

Key Questions

How can you wait patiently and with commitment?
While you wait, how can you best make yourself ready?

Oracle

‘Waiting, with truth and confidence.
Shining out, creating success: constancy brings good fortune.
Fruitful to cross the great river.’

You wait for what you need, like a farmer waiting for the weather to change. This is not a passive state; you can dance for rain, influence events by bringing yourself into harmony with the outcome you need. But you cannot force this, you can only attend to it. You will need patience: it may all take much longer than you had imagined. When you are fully present in waiting, your intense attention shines out like a beacon, beginning a creative engagement with the world – not by working on anything, but by waiting on it and holding your faith.

And in crossing the river, committing yourself to go as far as you can towards what you’re waiting for, you begin the transition into the world where it is real.

Image

‘The clouds are above heaven: Waiting.
A noble one eats, drinks and relaxes with music.’

Sequence

Waiting follows from Hexagram 4, Not Knowing:
‘Young things cannot do without nourishment, and so Waiting follows. Waiting means the way of eating and drinking.’

Pair

Waiting forms a pair with Hexagram 6, Arguing:
‘Waiting means no progress, Arguing means no connection.’

Changing Lines

Line 3
‘Waiting in the bog invites the arrival of robbers.’

Line 6
‘Entering into the pit.
There are uninvited guests – three people come.
Honour them: in the end, good fortune.’

Hexagram 61, Inner Truth

Key Questions

Where do you place your trust?
What feels true?

Oracle

‘Inner truth. Piglets and fishes, good fortune.
Fruitful to cross the great river.
Constancy bears fruit.’

The old Chinese character for ‘Inner’ probably shows a drum mounted on a pole. It suggests centrality and balance, and also the vibrations that carry through inner space. And the character for ‘Truth’ shows a bird’s claw over a child, suggesting the mother bird protecting her young. It also means confidence, and the sincerity that inspires it – absolute presence and concentration, creating a true connection. The very present truth vibrates through you like a drumbeat; you apprehend it directly as an inner resonance. The lines of the hexagram itself show a space at the centre, open to listen and resound with the intensity of experience.

Piglets and fishes are symbols of wealth, plenty and luck. They are staple foods used in humble offerings to the spirits: to receive piglets and fishes shows that you are in a state of connectedness, and can trust you will be provided for. Success in ongoing ventures (rearing your pigs), and the insight to be in the right place at the right time (placing the fishing nets) are both manifestations of your inner truth. And so it is good to commit yourself: inner truth will naturally move you towards new landscapes, as the inner hollow of a boat would carry you across the water. You stay true to your understanding by carrying it through into action, translating the moment of insight into responsiveness as a constant way of living.

Image

‘Above the lake is the wind: Inner Truth.
A noble one deliberates over legal proceedings and delays executions.’

Sequence

Inner Truth follows from Hexagram 60, Measuring:
‘Measuring and also trusting it, and so Inner Truth follows.’

Pair

Inner Truth is paired and contrasted with Hexagram 62, Small Exceeding:
‘Small Exceeding steps over the line; Inner Truth means trust.’

Hi Tania!
5.3.6>61.

Hex 5 Line 3
Waiting in mud = being stuck leads to vulnerability. Changes to (60) Limitations. You may feel stuck by the limitations others have imposed, or you have failed to abide by their limitations, which has brought matters to a stalemate. In either case, it is difficult to proceed because leaving seems impossible. Explore the idea of limitations to see if a win/win solution is possible. Patience, receptivity and a change in speed may be required.
Line 6 Waiting in the pit = three uninvited guests arrive, respect them. Changes to (9) Small Restraint. You have a reached a critical point and have run out of the necessary resources to continue. The situation is not hopeless however. There is a need to either accept the help of others or bridge disagreements. Three, symbolically is tied to the transcendental merging of opposites, moving away from an ‘either or’ approach. Perhaps the solution requires that you look for the middle way between extremes in your thinking. You are hoping for a certain thing and not seeing that you already have what you need.
hope this help!

Hello Joseph :)
As you see I'm a new member here.
I posted this question because I was wondering how to ask about my past relationship.
My 4 - years partner broke up with me 2 months ago because he found out that I was lying about my education. However, I did this only out of insecurities, did not mean to harm him or our relationship.
Now I'm trying really hard to understand this I-ching reading as well as your more than helpful explanation.
Many thanks for your reply, I'll take a better look again on it because now it is like a riddle to me.
Greetings, Tania

Hi Tania,

I think in this situation, line 3 doesn't bode well, perhaps by anxiety or premature action on your part, you're vulnerable here. Line 6 indicates that there's an impasse and you just need to wait for it to naturally unfold.

So my interpretation on this message is similar to what Joseph indicated that you need to walk the middle path, don't force the situation and stay true to your understanding. (as shown in your post --- You stay true to your understanding by carrying it through into action, translating the moment of insight into responsiveness as a constant way of living.)

Also thank you for your explanation, this brought more light upon my situation.
I do not force anything nor do I plan to act forceful or needy.
I accepted my former partner's decision to break up with me and I moved back to our home country.
I'm wondering what the future has in store for me and if it is really over for good with him (well, he said it's over)

Maybe ask, what is the best way forward for me now? or what do i need to know about this situation?
This may help to bring clarity in the near future, then if you follow the right path or the advice you receive.

You can get to where you are suppose to be.
Hex 5.3 is not a great position to be in so i do feel for you, I have had this line myself, for example if you were in a ditch like a soldier being fired upon and you couldn't move lest you be shot or your feet are stuck in mud and you cant move then you would be looking for your next move, like a tree branch possibly to pull you out, so if it was me , i would ask whats my next move. Noted this is not a physical thing its emotional, but I would take it as preparation to start to look after myself and get out of this emotional state of mind.
