I do it that way too Kevin and Martin. I have to becuse my knowledge of the Yi is so tiny that any other way bar the intuitive is closed for me.

Occasionally I will still not understand whatYi is saying hwoever I am reasonably sure that my approach is *real* because if thinking about eh same thing I will keep getting the same or very similar answer.

I don't think that there is anyone on the other side though. It's all oneness which I'm a legitimate part of. For example, I have found that Yi is unable to give precise answers on matters that have not been determined yet and also that it's unwilling to give unswers on some matters (for reasons of cosmic balance I assume).

This leads me to believe that my future has not been determined yet, and the outcome of anything I do is related to whatever I do now.

It's really all about self deception. If we as humans weren't so good at lying to ourselves, we wouldn't need Yi, we would *just know* things.

I do think it is worth studying the Yi though - the text the history and to plumb the meanings and wisdom in hexagrams, which I find not only contain clear advice, but which are clusters of motifs compressed into symbolic representations... and they can take some unpacking!

Ever tried doing a casting outside under a full Moon in the middle of nowhere?

Thanks for understanding Kevin.

What a wonderful suggestion.

I have really loved reading your posts, and the thoughts along this thread. Thank you for sharing your process.

Hilary's question, ie: would the answer be about how close you are getting it? or if the answer is talking about the concept directly...I would love to hear about that. Anyone?

It will often be a mix, I think. This kind of conversation doesn't follow strict rules like "we will only talk about how close I get and about nothing else." The oracle may even throw in a remark now and then that seems completely off topic. It's probably not off topic for the oracle though, because it is aware of more links than we are.

Question: Where is the moon?
Oracle: There is a hole in your bucket, dear Lisa, dear Lisa.

Agreed, about the mix. I don't think any conversations with Yi follow 'we will only talk about what I expect' rules. But I still like to be clear in my own mind what I do expect, if only so I can fully appreciate it when Yi dances a hornpipe over all those expectations.

I mostly use the method described as a means to navigate processes which I find complicated rather than just for information...

As folk say the responses are a mix like any conversation...

I tried to write a post giving and example, but I do'nt record them and am so wrapped up in them at the time... The attempts I made to give an example were rather wooden.

I don't think it is a great loss... I suspect it is a case of try it if you want and see if it works for you.

The Yi sometimes dances a hornpipe all over me when it decides I am off limits or being stupid.

Hardest part for me is determining if Yi?s laughing or just shaking its head mournfully. ?Tis not Yi that seeks the young fool, nor the older one, for that matter.? I mean, you know the answer could be simpler sometimes than the maze we often are given to get lost in; the one we create. The gods of change have a sadistic sense of humor. I?d play one back to them in like-humor, but fate won?t be duped. It?s a stacked deck. Only surrender summons the forester.

That must seem like a sudden change of state on my part...

Not realy... life happens... and what you say is, I think, the voice of experience...

I have just had a call from a very close friend... She was nearly murdered by her husband a couple of days ago... she just told me now... (he forced pills down her under threat of worse pain...

I am gutted... I love her deeply...

We have got a safety plan in place now...

I guess I am seriously upset...
