Recommendations very welcome! Though I imagine this is teaching modern Chinese, so I'm not sure how much of it would be relevant for us. What is MDBG anyway, and where can we find it?

In the attachment below I have used MDBG to make the example shown. On page 5 in this attachment, 2A are the online (free) version and 2B is the offline/Download version. It's (MDBG) dictionary spans over English/pinyin/modern & classic Chinese. (I have used it for several years and can only recommend it (Together with the other links given in this PDF)

Gregory C. Richter's Site (Which is one of the links in my PDF) is out apparently but can be found on the Wayback Machine.
