After seeing the blog started by falcott, it started me thinking.

In one of the Plum Blossom methodologies, the upper trigram is calculated from the day, month and year. The lower trigram, besides the date, includes the number of the hour (according to the Chinese Calendar). For example, a value of 7 is given for the period 11 am to 1 pm; a value of 8 is for 1 pm to 3 pm; etc. In other words, a value is given for every 2-hour period.

Question:
Suppose I want to know something about an event at, say, 12 pm. I'll take the value 7 to be included in the calculation for the lower trigram. Then, at 12.20 pm, say, I want to inquire about another aspect of the event. Since 12.20 pm is still within the period 11 am to 1 pm, the value 7 is used again resulting in the same hexagram and moving line.
(1) Does that mean that the resulting hexagram with the moving line is but a template to answer different questions? This will be hard to decipher and comprehend.
(2) Is there another way to go round this "problem" so that the reading is much easier and clearer?
