Evolution of a (love)relationship 12.1.6 - 17

Hello,
my question to I Ching this time regards the relationship between a good friend/lover of mine and I. We have grown more distant to each other lately and there are some communication problems even though the caring is always there. The fact that we live in two different countries obviously has a Lot to do with this and as things are at the moment we can't see each other too often.
My question was: How will our relationship evolve in near future?
The answer was hex 12.1.6 to 17

I'd say it's clear that hexagram 12 symbolizes the actual obstructions between us and there will continue to be obstructions for a while. The lines seem to indicate moments when the obstruction is somewhat being ended and there'll be quite of work to do in order to end it.
Hexagram 17 looks a bit like "reuniting" or some "mutual path" but I'm not too confident about my interpretation on that one..

What do you think?

First there is obstruction, but later there is joy. I think the 17 indicates that you are advised to adapt to the conditions you find yourself in; don't fret about them.

You might be right Ginnie, thanks for your reply. Will post an update on this "evolution" in few months in order to understand these hexagrams better

A couple of months have passed and I thought I'd give a little update. There were some obstructions keeping us a part, long distance and lack of communication for instance. We reunited shortly after my first post and that person is actually trying to permanently settle down in the area where I am living. Our relationship has gotten deeper and more serious, it's been brought to a different level and we keep evolving. There are still some obstructions but so far so good..
