I asked the I Ching "why have I been single so long?" It's been almost five years and I haven't met anyone. I feel like I am really ready to met someone. I feel like love eludes me.

22-Grace

Nine at the beginning means:
He lends grace to his toes, leaves the carriage, and walks.

Nine in the third place means:
Graceful and moist.
Constant perseverance brings good fortune.

Nine at the top means:
Simple grace. No blame.

...um, maybe Hex 22 is gently saying that your "why" question is kind of big and "important questions cannot be decided in this way" (W/B, Book I, image section).

imo, the lines and Hex 2 seem to affirm continuing to do all you've been doing well, maintaining balance, and keep seeking guidance (just in smaller steps).

Wow...thank you both so much. I can really relate to what lavalamp said. I was at one time really stuck on one particular person, and two I can allow myself to be side tracked based on what they are not who they are...then find out it's not the kind of person I want to be with.

I am confused by the "important questions can't be decided in this way", I will re-read that section. I didn't see it as being a big question, but you are right there maybe many facets as to why I haven't met anyone.

22 Grace is about external beauty of form, rather than inner beauty of character. It looks nice on the surface, but "important questions" need to be decided based on what is on the inside, not the outside.

Sometimes people wonder if 22 is about Grace in the religious sense, and I think it is in the sense that you get dressed up in light and love, and that and the beauty of it is healing too. But you still need to work on what is underneath, inside you. Being and becoming.

Yes, many, including universal mysteries :bows:, so maybe just continuing to ask additional questions about specific circumstances as they come up will help you discover things you hadn't considered before.
