My old boss gave me a very nice recommendation on a social networking site. I log in today and noticed it was gone.

I went to the inbox and it said he had withdrawn it.

I asked the yi why he withdrew my recommendation

Answer

62.4 to 15

I take it he doesn't think I am important enough to keep around.

While I usually only use the Wilhelm's Baynes version, I picked up Ni Hua Ching's book this time, and got an interesting thought in the commentary. It said, "If it can humble itself before the leader in the fifth position, there will be no problem." My thought on this, and I can't be sure about it, but what it sounds like, is your boss got shot down by HIS boss, and he may be covering himself. Is that a possibility?

Yes, that is a possibility.

He was an ok boss when there wasn't much going on but as more work came to the department he would just ignore things and was very poor at planning.

A few projects went pear shaped and he like to blame other people.

He liked to play games with people keeping them on edge on if their contracts would be renewed or not. I left the company and moved on and already have been promoted in my new company. Something that would have never happened there as he took no interest in our career at all.

H62.4 does indicate danger and great caution is required. H62 generally means only small very careful actions are permitted. Balkin seems to think the situation will resolve itself in time, if you are very cautious.

So basically sit tight, and don't make any large or overt moves. You may be able to restore the connection and recommendation by acting very cautiously now.
