Hello, I have been reading threads and learning from posts on this great site for a long long time but now just decided to come out
I wonder if someone would have insight about the following reading: I am single and asked about marriage, I got hex8 moving lines 1,5 and 6 turning to 27
I think line 1 is about staying true and holding faithfully to a potential mate, line 2 is about letting'em come to me willfully but line 6... Is it a warning of some sort?
Thank you:bows:

I don't think that line 6 means that you will never find someone or get married. Upon taking a closer look at 8.6 you will see that it reads:

"The head is the beginning. If the beginning is not right, there is no hope of a right ending. If we have missed the right moment for union and go on hesitating to give complete and full devotion, we shall regret the error when it is too late."

My take on that is that the i-ching is just giving you a bit of advice: when you find the right person, make sure you hit things off on the right foot, don't play games and don't waste time giving them your full commitment because doing so might allow that opportunity to slip away.

It's not saying that there won't be other opportunities with other people, but you may regret not making the right move when the time is right and that person might be kind of like "the one that got away".

Did you ask about marriage with a particular person in mind, or were you just asking in general? In other words, what was your actual question? :bows:

It is so good to get your responses, its an amazing feeling for me as a new member, thank you.

Ginnie my question was general (oracle for my marriage) but there are potential partners around although long distance. So when I read ' hold to him in truth and loyalty' frankly I was not sure which is Him? And recently have been feeling frustrated about the slow pace and lack of progress. It took lots of 5s, 52s and 15s for me to accept the situation.

Dooberry the interesting part is that I felt I was being devoted to one person too soon lately and was considering changing my approach and being more laid back and opening up the hunt as the advice in line 5. Also i have been getting other similar advices from other readings such as 'waiting to be wooed' 'not throwing oneself away' and 'shame of losing one's senses at the sight of the bronze man'...

Although it seemed to me that the advice in line 5 was contradicting that of line 6, Maybe in line 5 you still have to shoot quick once the prey is in the gates :)

In general I found this reading very powerful, hit me like lightening

How about the resulting hex 27? What would you make of that? I felt like I was being told to sustain myself without the need of someone else completing me  or perhaps its the arrival of a great nourishing union as I am praying for. Its the ambivalence of the answers that I find most intriguing...

I think the ambivalence is due to the fact that you had several young men in mind when you cast your hexagram.

About your question re: 8.6. In relationships, this can mean that between two people, neither one is the clear head. That is, the relationship has no leadership.

That makes a lot of sense in my situation Ginnie. About leadership, I cast a hex. a few weeks back asking 'have i already met the person/is the person already in my life?'' and rec'd hex 7 2.6 to 23.

I assumed that the 'General' was on the ground but it didn't cross my mind that I might be her!
