Give up dream 61>42

For a number of years I’ve been seeking THE job and THE ultimate place to live but every time I think ‘this is it’ it turns to dust!
Last week I interviewed for a different kind of job although in the same industry hoping that it may stop this issue recurring. I haven’t heard back and it’s given me time to rethink things.
In the interim I’ve been thinking maybe I should let go of my dream, semi retire and do casual work to supplement my income.
What if I do that?

Yes ...please...do that. We are the same age I think ? I'm 60 next year so you must be around that age ? I think it's late in life to envision 'THE job' though one can never tell I suppose. Maybe you are younger than that, not sure.

You do need to look after your health so that you can enjoy later years so you need to prioritise rest and enjoyment - oh and you got 61.2 and there's someone sharing a glass of wine. Too many people struggle on far too late in life and often don't live to see retirement, I've seen that so many times now.

Personally I hope you find some ease in life, some pleasure, nice times because it's been hard too long hasn't it ?

Isn't it interesting that you ask about giving up the dream and it turns out that giving up the dream makes the dream come true. A different kind of dream than The Job but it's clearly a dream to head to.

Thanks Trojina yes 60 next year too.
I just had lunch with my gf of 30 years who was passing through and she mentioned the amount of challenges life has thrown at me.... way too many she said. Nice comfort.
Agreed time to stop and enjoy before I’m dead!

It seems so.....I wonder how it will turn out.
At this point I don’t even have a place to live, not quite homeless but yeah!!
