Grace in the key of 22

There have been many discussions of h22, and many times the word "grace" has been discredited as a legitimate definition, probably due mostly to its religious connotation. But today I was listening to a lesson by the late, great jazz guitarist, Barney Kessel, as he was speaking of and demonstrating "grace notes". Grace notes are defined as:

a kind of music notation used to denote several kinds of musical ornaments, usually printed smaller to indicate that it is melodically and harmonically nonessential

I think this is a really nifty observation, Sooo :). Is it okay that I linked to it in Wikiwing? (Easily removed, if not.)

Yes, nice one. Grace notes enhance and embellish a melody without being a prominently exposed part of that melody - a hidden quality - just as a man or woman of grace will possess qualities that are not vulgarly flaunted.

I think the religious views on grace might be more accurate if viewed from the Yi's view on grace. How much do people really substantially change through grace, which looks at you in the most beautifying, even flattering of ways? Substantial change of being happens when we are confronted with our hard faults and reverse them, using our creativity to do so, not by the direct experience of grace from others. But grace permits us to interact with those who we may offend or who may offend us, it is a way of bridging the gap between what could be ugly in us and what is beautiful, by shining a light on it in a certain way. Snow on a farm of nightsoil looks beautiful in the sunrise, but it still stinks up close, lighting in an auditorium can make a shitty looking venue look other worldly. Grace overlooks the ugly, so beauty can create a way to relate. The religious reality of what grace is and the Yi's view are really not really so far apart, I don't think...
